Are ALL the main dealers rubbish?

Just can't seem to get anywhere with them.

I was reluctant to use Cobb & Jagger (Soltaire I think is the place) again, after their disinterest and slovenly attitude when I bought the S4R top yoke and risers from them. I didn't fancy going in again so rang through with a parts query, only to be met with yet more grunting and lack of enthusiasm, and no reply to my query.

Gave up on them and emailed Ducati Manchester, and swiftly got a reply back with emailed scans of the areas I was looking at with prices. Great, someone who can help I thought. Rang through and put in the order and paid, was warned it might take a week or so.

3 weeks later...still nothing. Just had to get in touch again to ask what's going on. I've been promised the parts by this Friday.

Anyone else I can use as the "local" northern dealers just seems to be completely incapable of giving a decent service.

Have you tried our sponsors as shown in the banner at the top of the page?
Call them and mention where you saw their name! :flash:

Andy the parts man at Ducati Manchester has been very help full with me lately I have been rebuilding my 999 and have been ordering the most obscure bits, turn around has been no more than 2 weeks

You have to go a long way to get one. Coventry for mail order parts and Glasgow for excellent service and a great reception. There are alternatives closer but they are not main dealers. John Cellier is best.

It's Andy who I've been dealing with.

Initially very helpful, and has since issued me with a sincere apology for the delay.

Still, reluctant to give them any more business...

Ducati Glasgow

Ducati Glasgow get you everything you want and are the friendliest bunch o folk. Also their sales aren't motovated by just the money they want you to get the best deal for YOU.
Because i want the new Rossi helmet and im in between sizes and its a wee bit loose and the won't sell me it

No good dealer should ever sell you a poorly fitting helmet. its a life or death thing.

Well I don't want this thread to turn into a Ducati Glasgow love in but.........They are indeed the top banana IMHO.............having said that I have found M & S in the toon to be very helpful and efficient....and also J & L in Carlisle, nice guys.....
:D

Hi

JHP Ducati Coventry for high stock level of parts and fast delivery combined with fantastic technical support.

Motorcycle sales, Ducati Coventry, Protwins, and M&S.

Scott

Yes I know that's the point I was making.............ie..............they are GOOD dealers :D

sorry i wasnt meaning that as a mark against them, theyve always been very good when i want something, just horrified to think of someone selling a poorly fitting helmet!!!

I use Cobb and Jagger alot, just got some more bits for bike, payed for friday and they were with me saturday morning.

Everything iv needed they either have it or can get it in very quick. Never had a problem with them.

Well, the parts from manchester never arrived. Will be cancelling tomorrow, pricks.

Was unfortunate enough to be at C&J yesterday to meet a very nice man about some used monster goodies.

Popped in for a nosey and a gasket. Usual grunts from the cross-eyed gimp on the parts desk. All he managed to do was point at the screen and say "its that one" then slap it on the counter. Awful awful place. Some lush bikes, but i would never buy one from them.

Damn, they finally arrived today, 20 mins before i was gonna call and cancel.

Will not be using Ducati Leeds nor Manchester again.

as i've said before on this forum,
think it's a bad road to go on spouting bad press on companies/shops

it now looks like you've got for bits, which suggests that that particular shop had a wee problem with supply or delivery
there are many permutations of what caused the delay
The Internet is great for advertising but it's dangerous because lots of people think its gospel
take it easy on the shop, :)

Not at all. If they want custom then provide a better service. So you saying people shouldn't be praising Ducati Glasgow? Sorry but it's called consumer advice, and I know where I will (and won't) be shopping next.

None of the bolts I've ordered match the bolts on the bike. They're silver. On the bike they are gold zinc passivate. So I can't even use em anyway without buying more to match...

They are definitely an acquired taste :) .... and not to everyone's.......... nice description tho' :)

Hi

The problem now is that with the gold zinc bolts they are in short supply with Ducati and have been for a while now, these are being fazed out.

Hence the silver plated ones supplied.
