I will keep you informed of both their progress when I have spoken to Docs later today (Sunday) Goodnight.

Bollocks. NO THEY WERE NOT MENTIONED :D

:eek:No, pass on all the best to him, That is really crap news. Bloody pheasants are a real problem this time of year.
Glad he is REASONABLY OK.
A new bike can be purchased later, as long as Bruce is OK.:)

FFS Bruce, terrible news.

Hope your feeling a little better today, insurance should take care of bike worries.

Get well soon.

Frank

Holy S**t how many more of us monster riders are gonna hit the deck.

Give him my best, a drop of vino collapso and some TLC should see him right:lol2:

Bruce,

Very sorry to read this.

As others have said, metal can be repaired/replaced far easier than skin and bone.

Though, it does sound as if you've been quite well damaged yourself! As long as you're still here to tell the tale, that's all that counts.

There's a valuable lesson to us all here though!

bloody hell not another one

you're gonna be sore for a wee while Bruce with those ribs etc. lots of tlc and a wee dram or three will get you throught it all I'm sure;) GWS Insurance will sort out the monster.

So sorry to hear about you 'meeting' with the bird. Hope you're on the mend.

Might curb your style for a while.;):D

As Lynn said, lots of TLC and medicinal liquids will help.

Thanks for keeping us informed Ann.

this will teach you to try and race against something faster than you!!! never mind you will get over it soon and be back on a bike before you know it. take lots of the pain killers:D:D:D

Ouch, f'ckin birds, i bet he didnt stick it in a bag ready to be made into pie before the ambulance got there :)

Sorry to hear this Bruce, hope its a quick recovery and you are back on bike soon, GWS

There are even bigger hazards around - I was heading back home late afternoon yesterday and about a mile before Chollerford two young deer jumped over the fence and ran across the road in front of me. First time I have seen any in that area!

Oh no! Let me know when he's up to receiving visitors cos the Wansbeck is just down the road from me.

get well soon lad , ive not heard many good reports about wansbeck hospital :o

Have to say, they fixed up my broken wrist as good as new :)

Fecking hell man, Sorry to hear that Bruce, glad you're ok, hope you get better soon mate, good luck with the bike repairs, i guess some birds like it rough eh :D.

On the other hand another ducatista went down this weekend, my mate Conrad and his Multistrudel had an encounter with a :jerkoff: turning right without indicating or checking his mirrors, on his way to work, 7.00 in the morning, ironically it happened on the hospital grounds, he got away with a sore back and broken bone on his foot,he will be wearing a cast for a while, the bike is not even a year old.

Take care out there guys

FFS Bruce , what a bummer. Had a few buttock clenching moments with those things myself! F*****8g stupid things!

Pneumothorax not good, hope you are feeling better soon. Sending all my good thoughts to you for a speedy recovery.

Don't have my bike at the moment as its poorly too but there have been too many "offs" reported on here recently. Also met a guy at work recently who can no longer work following a bike accident, can only walk with crutches. I LOVE my bike but it does make you think.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Bruce.

Could have been a lot worse but that is not much consolation just now I'm sure.

Hope to see you up and about soon.

Hope you're feeling better soon, sorry to hear about the accident.

This is an unusually high number of us going rubber side up recently . You guys take care out on the roads......

I hope you are better soon and the bike is sorted or replaced without too much hassle.

Oh, bollox. Get well soon Bruce.

Really sorry to read this.................... if I had read Bruce's PM quicker he may have been on his way to give me a bit of support at East Fortune racing yesterday instead! :o

I had two spare tickets as well.....

Still, on the plus side, if the bike is a write off, he can buy it back from the insurers and turn it into a minitwin for racing next season

Discharged fae hospital....

Firstly thanks for all the good wishes guys and girls....Got discharged this afternoon and feeling a little better, still very sore though...The facts, new kreiger 35 on, off to ann's in Carlisle for weekend, 12m down road pheasant comes out of hedge flying at full pelt, I am doing 60mph ish and it knocks me off bike and down the road, end up in ditch having taken out loads of Hawthorne Hedge, very painful, and I thought I was gone:eek:, air ambulace ride to hospital was "interesting" and then they got me sorted!! Have not seen bike yet and new Kreiger is written off after 12miles use (must be a record!) Arai quantum f also fooked......Leathers may yet fight another day!! 3 broken ribs, four broken bones in back, punctured lung and fractured collar bone plus internal bleed...Sheet I am so lucky to survive this one!!! Ride safe all"!!":D:D
