Bits that fall off bikes

Well normally on here I read about people with things coming loose on their Ducati's
I went out with a mate on his ZX6 on Sunday on the very bouncy coast road to Southport, I am sure some of you will know it. Well he had been on a track day the day before and was giving it a right hand full. All of a sudden I heard a clank but saw nothing so carried on.
Got to the stop and he says his tax disc has fallen off and after checking it has bounced up and smashed off my rear indicator lens.
I am far from happy. But just ordered new ones from Project R and told him he is paying due to the poor state of repair on his Jap Crap.

I wouldnt know where to begin with bits dropping off my bikes, however, a poorly fitted Sony Cybershot fell off a Davieravie last year which I headbutted at circa 80 mph, along with a similarly poorly fitted ciggie lighter :D

906 Paso - gear lever came loose and dangled down in the fairing. Only found out when I came to change down a gear at a ton and rapidly approaching traffic:eek:
900 superlight - exhaust brackets. Shout really loud at them and they break, so being on a loud exhaust tended to get through a pair of brackets every two months
600 Pantah - engine top mounting bolt and spacer. Unbeknonst to me they fell off as I entered cat and fiddle car park. Geezer on my way out said "Are these bits off your bike" to which I said "Nah, nowt wrong with my bike" Half way down cat and fiddle the handling was somewhat dreamy to say the least.

Twice I've had to duck under silencers flying through the air which had detached themselves from the bike in front.
I used to have an old BSA single on which the gear lever fell off the shaft so often I ended up attaching it to the frame with a length of wire, so that when it fell off I didn't have to go back up the road and look for it. :D

only thing to have fallen of my bike was my old next door neighbour .............. unfortunately for me (and him!) he was riding it at the time  :(

Yep a few things, Gear lever on the Multi first time out, screen trim twice on the 749, both on trackdays and caught by by neck when damn near flat out, my little RVF 400 lost its left hand air tube at mach 3 aswell, caught it though, christ knows how !

Micron exhaust fell off my 125 as I was overtaking a old girl in a metro!

She absolutely bricked it...... only imagine what would have happened if it had been a ducati, imagine the noise!!!!!!!

My first moped broke in two as I was riding it. Not all bad news though, I managed to save the Mars bar I was eating at the time!

...can't really remember anything falling off my bikes other than, as Pete said, me! I've had important nuts and bolts come loose with potentially disasterous results but not had anything fly at me!!! Numberplate nearly came off at Knickerhill last year - thanks again Scotch for babysitting it for me after I removed it in the pits!! :)
