Classic gets a bit more classic

I'm getting there bit by bit

Not as ear splittingly loud as the termis on DBs bike but good enough for me.

One day I'll fix all those wires.

I do have the option of removing the baffles but at the moment I've no great wish to compete with your sheer volume!:p

Are they Keihan exhausts?
Were they made for the sport Classic or did you modify them to fit?
Certainly makes it look more classic.
Can't be as loud as Db's cans.
In Italy last year some poor woman ran out of her house screaming when he fired it up. She said everything was shaking and stuff was falling off walls.
Next day he rolled the bike half a mile down the road before starting it! :lol2:

They are Keihan cans, nicely made too.

I made this earlier, this is with the baffles in, its still quite loud and raspy, I was intending to do another with the baffles out but in the finest ayrshire tradition it started raining as soon as I'd started the engine.

I reckon with the baffles out it may very well be close to DBs earthquake cans.

Didn't know Keihan had the option of taking out the baffles.
Does change the note quite a bit.:)

I could have bought them completely without baffles but thought the option would be good, they are just an insert held in by a small allen bolt.
Heres what the can looks like without them.

Heres the sound with the baffles out, you never really get the proper sound in clips like this and certainly nowhere near the volume that you hear standing next to them.

I reckon these may just give Captain Earthquake on the GT a run for his decibels.;)

Heres what usually keeps the noise down....slightly.

Very nice  , sounds just like the Verlicchi,s I have on the 851 :D

They look nice, I was also looking at reverse cone pipes like that but could only find them in Australia and by the time they are packaged here and intercepted by customs and vat etc., that made them prohibitively expensive.

My next step is to polish out the 'lettering' on the underside;), but as I'm crap at that I may just take it to a shop who'll do it quicker and neater.

I did think about making them black like the oe cans and matching the rest of the pipework. Mark at Keihan who made these cans also has a sportclassic S like mine and has polished headers to match the cans which also looks really good.
Next time I'm out I'll bring a small allen key;)

polish the headers to match the cans.
I have polishing gear in the garage and could do the headers for a small fee if you are interested....

A'up there,

these look and sound just like the Keihans on the Project Imola bikes!
They too have the same baffles for MOT purposes, although where we go - Tom up at Spinningdale they pass Ed's bike every year without them fitted.

You could get them custom made here fror less than that if you wanted.

The Conti reps for the bevels are probably working out about twice the price of the real thing.
