Diavel, what do you lot think?

Don't think that Foxy as pillion on the F4 will ever happen again... was a one off and I reckon next time Foxy is on it she'll have hold of the bars and be twistin the throttle!

Are you aware you just said that out loud Paul !

:hail:  :D

on the topic of the seat, pegs and grab rail - looks a helluva lot better than being perched on the back of an F4 with knees round your ears etc etc etc   :)

lynn theres parts of this sentence that you cant say in front of me and by the looks of it several others on here. you know how my mind/their minds work:eek:

, what i was trying to say was that i dont think the history of the marque, is as important to modern buyers as you may think. /QUOTE]

No I agree with you!! :D
THAT is why I think it is sad! ;)
And to answer Miles I am NOT suggesting that Ducati should get stuck in the past.
Things like moving from singles to twins, from bevels to belts was radical and I'm sure the discussions within Ducati when Taglioni came up with this stuff must have been pretty heated.
Ducati have always been a niche player compared to the big Japanese firms and they have to come up with new designs and developments to survive.
I like the idea that Ducati has taken on the big boys in racing and come out on top. Is that not a lot of the excitement?
All I am saying is if this sort of stuff is not important to people who profess to be Ducatisti and it doesn't move them enough to take even a cursory look at the firm's history then personally I find that odd.

What percentage of folk for instance on here (on assumption you are here as a Ducati enthusiast) have at least one book on the history of Ducati?
I would have expected the vast majority do but maybe they don't?

I am not suggesting people have to like or want old bikes. I happen to like old and new.

I have no ducati books, but lots of lambretta ones. Just showing off my perversion credentials there:thumbs::lol2:

Diavel

Was through DG this morning collecting bits for my S4,I had a wee squiz over and a sit on the Diavel.
For what it is its pretty smart, apart from the front which is very bland...it may be because the one on display is completely black, big massive light then much blackness.
Nae doubt its a beast and an excellent compromise between cruiser a street bike, monster, street fighter type and it does corners to

Not for me though(even if i was flush ££)as well as riding I get my pleasure with tinkering, projects etc,I'll stick to the older stuff, which soon may include an other Italian marque :D

what, are you getting a lambretta as well?

oh yes, a 1200C, perfect , actually the 850R is a good bike for shorter folk

did you ever see the trike version BMW did of this? it actually looked really good. if i ever went for a trike it would be one of those

Well what do you know...............?

In Glasgow today and dropped into DG.

Had a look at the big ugly lump in the corner.... and when I had finished being insulted by Harry I went downstairs and had a look at the Diavel.;)

Well impressed, a very coherant design when you see it "in the flesh". Some very nice design touches that as yet have not been mentioned in any of the write-ups. If I had a spare 13k in my back pocket I could be tempted.:cool:

Oh, Martin let on how many have been ordered....... :flash::flash::flash:

Have to admit..........and I am really quite shocked and disturbed at this as I have not liked the bike at all in any of the pics/vids and promos that I have seen.............

but to see it in the flesh and have a seat on it, properly look at it and see all the angles, tech, design features and whole picture ........... I liked it too
:flash:

but I wouldn't swap my monster for it though :o:)

It's a struggle these days to find a bad bike - not like the olden days, good engine / doesn't handle, underpowered/overweight, nice wheels / chocolate camshafts etc etc. Sure the Drivel is braw. just not my thing...

Have I posted enough times on this thread yet?

started off hating it when i saw the pictures, love it in the flesh. the small details single sided swing arm, the number plate holder you name it i liked it .all except the exhaust but i could live with that quite easily.............shame i cant bloody afford it.
