They are definitely a one off, i have never seen them before. The faces don't have ND on so they are not factory. Just seems a lot of work to go to
 
hello again, Thanks to BobC for the heads up. my clocks were black-faced. I liked the idea of white-faced ones but things are on hold a bit at the moment since work was coming in a succession of small bits rather than a few large chunks, which cut-back on garage-time. I'll read back a bit as dales Giro sounds like something I'd like to be at. Happy New year to you all, Martin
 
Paddy, that's a link to a page not a picture. To post a picture, right click on the picture and select "copy image URL". Then paste the URL in your post using the image button (tree).

Yes very odd, i cant see any pictures on any threads here any more, just links to pictures which do work but the picture opens in a new window, not in the post.

Any thoughts. Tried checking settings and switching off AVG etc
 
I use a Mac so I'm not overly familiar with how the PC world works but I suspect that it's something to do with the settings in your browser. Windows Explorer?
 
Well thank your lucky stars your classic Ducati doesn't use Laverda headlamp brackets.:eek: the Jota conversion continues with some chroming



not unlike Ducati chroming but those two piece headlamp,brackets are £400 a pair.....Second hand ones with rechroming have cost me £250 !!
When you consider a bungee strap is £1.00 this Lav should consider itself very lucky.:lol2: Lets face it if these Laverdas didnt vibrate so bad they wouldn't need to rubber mount the triangle to the tube anyway...lol
 
Another first for me was getting mudguards re polished. I needed a Jota rear because the std thing is black plastic so i found an early stainless one, but as usual it had been through the wars. To make the trip over to Cowfold worth while i took a couple of Darmah fronts as well. Very pleased with the result, better than new actually.

Tempting to use a Darmah front on the Jota, std is painted. I had never noticed the sides on a Darmah front are chromed
 
Very nice Scott, i have revamped my customer bike pictures on my website, gone back to basics. The galleries were too slow and used a huge amount of bandwidth.
When you said above you recognised my red 860 i thought you had seen it at jihadi Johns. He never told me he got it from you !! :-) Anyway your 860 is a real credit to you, lovely job.

That is sensational! :faint: If I'd turned up to pick up my new GT and received yours, I'd never have known it wasn't new and would have been thrilled :).

I hope you have a stack of fun riding it and enjoy all the smiles you receive from those lucky enough to see it but not own it.

I bet you'll be delayed by people reminiscing or just admiring, so expect to be late if you go out on it! :thumbs:
 
Amazing thread, Paddy, read the first page and then skipped to this one but very inspiring and going to make time to read the rest later! I remember when I had my last 860GT ('85 ish), I had to do a partial engine strip. I was astonished at how easy it was compared to some of the Jap stuff. I was particularly impressed with the fact that it was designed so no head gasket was needed, completely blew me away! Now you're going to tell me that there should've been one ha!

Scott - what an incredibly beautiful bike you've got there, buddy! :cool:

Of course, I'm not biased in any way.. :rolleyes:
