Just visiting
Given that a number of Ducati owners and prospective Ducati owners view these pages, I think it's important that my experiences with Ducati Glasgow are documented for the record. I can honestly say that the entire team at Ducati Glasgow, Martin, Kerrie, Blair, Harry, Tracy, George, Charlie, Stuart and mum are nothing short of exceptional. I have no hesitation in recommending Ducati as a product and Ducati Glasgow as a supplying dealer. Here's some notable scenarios, perhaps compare these to your current dealership.
2005 - New 999R Xerox bought over the phone whilst on holiday and ready in 4 days (ready the day I arrived back from holiday). All the admin taken of.
May 2008 - Hypermotard 1100S, ready the DAY after I bought it....
May 2008 - 1098R, another record breaker, on the road the day after it arrived.
D16RR - this requires a special medal, not just getting the bike and preparing, but working until well after 9pm on a hot summers FRIDAY NIGHT just so that I could pick the bike up early saturday and maximise MY DAY. I know others will snigger - but the above are facts from a dealership that cares PASSIONATELY about the brand and values its customers. It's the small things too, home baking, coffee and tea - whether you're buying a T Shirt or a D16RR, the service is the same. So, before you part with your cash to another dealership, read the facts. Some may say, huh, he's Martin's mate... I think I get on well with Martin, but that's BECAUSE of the superb service provided. Just my thoughts, that's all :)

2004 - new ST3 ready and waiting on time. The guys bent over backwards trying to track down an unidentified noise from the engine, even getting DUK involved before it was resolved after a few weeks . I was a pain in the @@@@ , they were never less than friendly and professional.

2005 - ST3 comes back from a routine service with a brand new back tyre on, at no charge, after an oil feed pipe came loose during testing. "We could have cleaned the oil off the tyre, but it would never be quite right again" !!! The fact that I would never have known simply didn't factor into their thinking, and that speaks volumes for the attitude of everyone at DG.

When I started looking for a new bike around 2006 Martin was an enormous help as I was struggling to decide what direction to take. Of course he didn't hide the fact that in his opinion I wouldn't be happy with anything other than another Ducati, and he proved it by letting me take out a very low mileage ZX9R on trial. I couldn't believe how gutless it felt and that was me on the road to buying my 999 in 2007(after a brief flirtation with the 1098). It's obvious to see that Martin doesn't just want to sell people bikes, he wants to sell people the right bikes for them!

And one last thing, even when they are slagging you off they do it with a lot more style than any other dealer! And, of course, with absolutely no malice-it's all good fun!

Just to add - what other dealer can race jet planes and pick up a guitar to entertain his guests?:D

Lovely boy.;)

Wonderful staff.:D

I didn't hold the guitar playing against him either Mary.;)

Still went on to buy a bike off him.....even if it wasn't a duc..:o

Got to add my agreement to Mad Dash's original post. I bought my Multi there last September and the whole process could not have been handled any better. Even the delivery estimate was spot on (a first for me when buying a new bike or car)!

For me, knowing a dealer is good can make the difference between buying one make of bike or another.

aye.. not bad I suppose ;)

Considering how far we are from them but still buy form there I would say they are pretty good :D

Must say my first encounter with DG back in the early days was a not the best. Not because of the service, just the atmosphere, back then I went in once and did not return for a couple of years. I was left feeling that the type of Ducati experience Social & dealer I had darn sarf was never going to happen up here in Scotland.

Then when upnorth got going the comment about DG were good and some of the staff had changed so I poped in one day and hey presto! things were and have been tip top ever since. I have never purchased a bike from DG as most of you know I like the old Sh#t;) but the service and friendlyness shown to me from all involved at DG is first class.

It is so good that my house mate in London has ordered a D16 from them on my and another friends recommendation! That say's alot as there are at least 6 Ducati dealers within 40 mins of his house.

I gotta say, that even though I'm not in the market for any new Ducatis, I've only ever bought a DG T-shirt from DG, I came to the lauch evening of the Desmo in '06 and Martin gave me a full tour of the premises, I was treated so well and made to feel very welcome. I have spent a career in customers service rolls and with regard to good CS, DG are a very well oiled machine that is a pleasure to be associated with.
I do all the trackevenings (bar just a couple over the last 2 years) and getting a phone call on my long journey home just to thank me is a very welcome thing!

Hail Ducati Glasgow.....

...Ok, I won't go that far, & take that last statement!!! :o

Have to agree, Ducati Glasgow's a spot on place. Not bought a bike there yet but the bikinis are OK!

making you feel welcome......god they must regret that now

A note to everyone,

We are absolutely staggered by the response on this post, thankyou so much.

Things like this make the job so much easier to do.

As I have said before, we don't get it right all the time but we will never stop trying.

Thanks

Mart and all the DG team.:)

wots round and black n flat at the bottom?

ok ...just to let everyone know ......myself and lorna were up for a general tootle about ..and popt into DG.for a (natter and mooch )...on our way to paisley to have a coffee with lornas daughter......

after a quick coffee we went back to the hyper to find that the rear hoop was as flat as the preverbial scone ...b@@@@@x

now this is where it starts ...phones H at DG unfortunatly they dont have the right tire in stock but they would overnight one and get it fitted first thing ..brilliant !!...so i try to phone ducati assist ..."try".. for sum reason neither my fone or lornas can get through ...so back on the fone to DG ...DG fone ducati assist for me and arrange for them to fone me back ...brilliant again ...ducati asist via the AA say they would be with me in about an hour ..this was at 4.30pm so back on the fone to DG to say we would be with them shortly ...Kerrie offers to stay behind for a wee bit to put the bike inside ....after 3 hours the aa finally turn up ..apperently the driver had to have his break and thought they "AA" would send someone else ...
now bear in mind the AA turned up at 7.30 ish .....and delivered us to DG after then

Kerrie and blair waited behind for us because they wouldnt let me leave my bike outside ...!!

In all the years ive had cars and bikes i have never had service like this ...not only did they wait for us to arrive they also offered to arrange somewhere for us to staybut also offered us a lift to our hotel

THIS IS FIRST RATE SERVICE that goes way beyond.what i would expect from anyone .and our thanks go out to all the team at Ducati Glasgow ...theyr not number one for nothing!!!!! and this just goes to prove it :D

625 miles. that's what the odometer says and on start up i'm getting the moving script "....SERV....". OK then, time for a first service on the 1098R. i had so many new toys this spring, i only just got to the magic marker after 3 months. call to DG. initially booked thru July!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they must have sold so many new bikes and have so many loyal service customers. a beg, a squeeze, a whine later.......booked in for sat 28 June.....while u wait if u come by 9am. carnt say fairer than that.

they're sooo luverly rn't they?!!!!

All positive feedback from me as well.............

When i bought my 749 Dark a few years ago everything was as promised.

The bike was delivered on time and even more impressive was the fact it was delivered on a Friday night to Stirling when the man in question was supposed to be having his wee girl for the night, and yip she helped him deliver it.

When it went in for a service one of the guys noticed a bit of "bubbling" of the paint on the frame around the foot peg, a few weeks later a newly painted frame in the colour of my choice and the wheels to match.......

EVERY time you are in even if the place is packed you still get a cuppa and a biccie (or 10 ;)

Harry always has a wee something for the wee man, whether it is a sticker or a book or just ripping the p1sh oot o him for 10 minutes while dad has a chat with Martin.

I can honestly say that the "New" team has made a huge difference in the atmosphere from a few years ago, you can actually feel the buzz and the craic, and the people there now want to sell bikes and help the place go from strength to strength.

And listen it is not all roses, Martin and i have had a handbags at 50 paces session and managed to sort it, the true testiment is that even after this small disagreement over something completely trivial, all my fault i might add, i have still gone back and bought another bike from them, because you know what in the cold light of day what they do is above and beyond what is expected.
