Ducati Manchester, great improvement in service!

Didn't we use to have a dealer review section on here? Never mind, hope this is ok to post here.

Went for a bit of a blast today & found myself at Ducati Manchester, & decided to pop in to have a warm!

I was greeted by Chris who was really friendly & helpful as we walked around, explaining his plans for a slightly new layout, and telling me about their efforts to improve their image after all the negative publicity they have had in the past, which he freely acknowledged was probably justified. They want to get a sort of club feeling going there, with BBQs, rideouts, trackdays etc. He's already bought a butty van! He also said that if I ever fancied having a go on any of the Demo bikes, theres no problem, even if I have no intention of buying! All sounds good to me! He also told me they had 12 D16RRs on order! I should have asked if there was a Demo one ;) .

Anyway, I was looking at the display of carbon bits & bobs & found a DP 998 front mudguard sitting there, a little bit shop worn (a tiny little graze on it, that a bit of elbow grease will shift) & asked how much (I know damn well how much they are, I've been pricing them up all w/e). Well it wasn't on their stock list, because it was old stock that they had inherited, so I made a silly offer, we went to Andy (the Parts guy) and ummed & ahhed & they agreed on my silly offer!

Not only that, they kept me topped up with coffee while they FITTED THE MUDGUARD FOR ME FOC!! And then they gave me an old rucksac to take my old mudguard home!!!! All in all they couldn't have been more helpful!

Absolutely brilliant stuff, and just the kind of thing they need to bring their image up to what it should be.

Good to know they are recognising the issues and trying to sort it out. Sounds like you had a good experience :)

We had just started to think about going back when Martyn was trying get things moving but have not been back since. May consider it one day :)

I have to agree with you Rob.

"Manchester" had had their fair share of bad publicity over the last year or two.
I have just purchased a 2nd hand bike from them and from start to finnish they ( Chris, Ian sales & Ben in service) have been first class in every way.

They are working very hard to erase the past issues and from my perspective it's working.

I have had Dukes for many years and have to say as a main dealers they and Glasgow are the best I have come across.

Yep Manchester are trying to change things and having visited the store on a few occassions recently. The positive things/ signs are beginning to show through.

I've met Chris a few times and also at there other stores in past years. He's genuinely a good guy and hope that what he's doing with the store and its image changes etc works for them.

Ben in service I've known for quite a while and has also become a good friend too, so can be trusted absolutely!!!

Good luck all...

Not like that other knob that used to be the manager !!!!

I am delighted for them and can be found there sometimes still, we are doing a rideout or meet the third Sunday in the month from there, should be good.

The other Knob Jockey (think his name is Martyn Edwards??) wasn't too bad either. Except he disappeared into oblivion (where's Dr Who's tardis when we needed it)!! Can now be found alledgedly with a phone call beforehand at The Red Lion on the last Wednesday of the month.. It should be 7.30pm, but he only does it on Martyn's time....... :0)
