It was awesome....
Received a lot of pos comments from people on this article - thanks for that! It was just a bit of fun at the end of the day and I think its fair to add that I'm no Fangio (he's dead I think for a start).
We just thought it might make some good reading and at the end of the day I got Almeria to myself for the bike/car - awesome!
There was no question that the bike was a lot faster and albeit the wise out there think the car was a) not being driven hard enough b) should have done better... that's fine and thats what makes us all so passionate about this stuff, we're petrolheads!
I was very conscious that I did not want to bin the car (or the bike although Neevsey was being very careful) however even if the car had been totally wrung out it would still have lost out to the bike. There were places where I could have gone faster, a lot faster (to the bar at the hotel for example for my round) however that "what if" gremlin was sitting righ on the dash, just in front of the rev counter - did you spot it

. Still would'nt have beat the bike though... no way.
We had numerous sessions over Friday evening/Saturday morning and Saturday evening - quite a few people (Martin/Kenny/Hayden/Neevsey and others) got a spin in the car and we all had a blast.
Thanks to especially Martin for working the logistics and keeping it moving in the right direction or it probably wouldn't have taken place.
The car is back in the garage, polished and ready for next year, the bike is back at DG getting a few tweaks and checked over.
Awesome Bike, awesome car - awesome event! End of.
Now...... next project - clock ticking!
