Fancy a Norton for 20 sovs!!!!!!!

I see the £20 deal has gone but looking at Judds this morning they are doing a £69 deposit and £69 a month for 2 years with a cap of 2,000 miles per annum.

What would worry me is, the final payment would be £12,013 or give the bike back and I'd worry if a two year old Norton Commando 961 sp, would be worth that value of the final settlement

No, it's not going to be worth that.

You're welcome 😁

iT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT WAS OR NOT - THE FINAL PAYMENT...oh fuck...you can just walk away at that point.

The excess mileage charge is good value at £100 per 1000 miles

Nope, surrendering the bike only works if the bike is worth the amount still owing. If it's less and you surrender the bike, they come after you for the difference too.

No they don't - it's a PCP - the final payment is optional.

That's good to know. I've never needed to use a pcp so it'sgood to get all the requirements in the open. (y)

PCP can be ok if you don't have enough cash for a car, it's generally on new cars and designed so you pay the first 3 or 4 years depreciation (the biggest hit) at the end you can; give the car back and walk away, pay the balloon price and keep the car as 100% yours, trade the car fir another new PCP deal (this can be with another dealer and prior to the end of the PCP deal if you wish).

The balloon payment is based on what the dealer thinks the car is worth at the end of the deal and generally below actual value so they don't lose out if they get it back so usually better to go to a different dealer.

End of the day you are throwing away all the tax on a new car so it's expensive unless you really want a new car. Getting a 3 or 4 year old car on HP is probably better in the long run, but get your own loan as it will be cheaper than the dealers rates (probably 15% these days 😬)
