FFS - another one down, 4 in a week.

Thats 4 deaths on Cumbrian roads in a week according to the local news, I think it was 3 riders and one pillion, another one today.

These were not all single vehicle accidents, so FFS be careful out there.

Todays fatal was an, as yet, unknown male from Kendal, chances are I will know him and the phone will ring tonight.

Gutted, although I am not sure that this forum is the right place to vent my anger - please take it easy.

Ian - buy a multi :D , I am just as happy at damn near the speed limit on the multi as I was at 120 on the 749, my senses are heightened these days when out on the bike after the last few years of death and destruction.
 
What is it with Kendal and muppets then?

Well it seems all my biking buddies are home safe, Kendal well the local lads like playing out, mostly on their own, we have rides and then kinda go and do our own thing - we have alot of tourist traffic and alot of riders forget that.

While coming back through town tonight a car was coming the wrong way over a one way bridge, it is very well signed and difficult to stray in the wrong direction - local Police were doing alot of finger pointing and waving at the driver - I would normally 'filter' over that bridge, I saw the Blue lights and took caution, that would have been a head on that could not, in reality be anticipated.

Sorry its doom and gloom, I had a really good day out with some great people, fact is there are some complete @@@@s on the road, coming down Hartside for example, after TWPD and Scotty came past, very safely, three riders went in procession round the outside of a left hand blind bend, I mean it was fecking blind, 100%, you could not see through it at all, they survived by luck, luck that was all - it made me shudder, 4th rider came past me and shook his head, at me ????? would that be because I was riding to the speed limits, nope it was because I was riding on the line and blocking him from passing me when it was not safe to do so - nay mind, he ignored that and passed me round the outside on double whites ?????

Lets face it alot of the riders out there should not be, I am no riding God, I don't have a death wish though - he had a mohawk on his lid and was riding a Blue and White Gixer.
 
i was enjoying following a 2 up ZXR750 down to Devils from Sedburgh, he clearly knew the road which i had never done (well, once in the opposite direction) he then pulled out to pass a car going into a blind left hander, an on coming car swerverd and braked narrowlly (sp?) missing him, at the point i eased off and enjoyed minding my own businees and getting to the bridge safely ta...

Do you reckon it had anything to do with the fact that he couldn't shake you off?
