First ride on the Multi !

Last night I was at a 'function' and the only drink on draft was bloody real ale of varying strengths, opted for the weakest and had fun, this morning - my goodness that stuff is evil !

Got a txt of MartinH but declined the rideout offer as I was as rough as feck, left a bit and started to feel more human, so thought I would nip up to the garage and get her out..........

What fun, that bike is not gonna need the front tyre changing very often, it just wants to loft the front ALL the time, I have to admit it brings out the hooligan in me !

If the front wasn't in the air the back was spinning up on the greasy roads, I was laughing alot !

First problem, bloody mirroe decided to shake itself loose and spin round on me, stop off at my mates and get the spanners out, sorted !

Off to Devils Bridge, I did txt Martin before I set off to see if he had come this way but not heard anything back, nay mind had a brew and hung around for a bit but my head was cold so headed back.

Chased a Tuono for a bit, he was getting very nervous though and nearly put it in the hedge twice right in front of me so dropped back for his safety, seriously crap rider though, braking all through the corners and the roads were greasy, hope he got home alright, it won't be long though untill he is another statistic !

Last leg home, long right hander, good visibility, two cars, off we go, hang on a minute, where has the fecking gear lever gone ????

Bolt dropped out, so no more gear changes for me, dropped back in at the same mates house, much to his amusement fixed it and came home !

So, what do I think of it - funfunfunfunfun, thats it, a very capable bike, you see 3 figures very quickly indeed, it want to shake itself to death if in the wrong gear, I will learn though, I love it and we are gonna get on just fine, could maybe do with a higher screen and a hugger - oh and some decent tyres, other than that, see you on a rideout soon, I will be the one with a big grin on my face !

ian your making me want 1!

I would have no hesitation about taking it on the track either Ian, it is a revelation, as you know me and the 749 got on very, very well - I loved the sportsbike, there is no way I would have been out on the 749 today though, with the multi you can see over hedges and start your overtakes sooner, on the road you need nothing more than this bike !

I agree the style of bike is the ultimate. If I had bought the HP2 first I would not have bought the other two.
It hunts and eats sportsbikes for lunch! Even on Mud and Snow tyres!

they are great fun on cold wet days, so much easier to ride than a sportsbike and just as quick, heated grips and heated jacket next Ian :)

I was as warm as toast today though, maybe my feet were getting a bit chilly that was it though !

Brilliant, i love it when a new aspect of biking is discovered. The way you go on about it ian makes me wanna buy 1, you would make a good salesman m8.

Great stuff, another convert away from sportsbikes (never thought I'd say that!), Since owning the Katoom I've realised that sportsbikes just aren't well suited on the UK roads, don't get me wrong I love em to bits but you can just as much if not more fun on something different.

As you say you're that bit higher so the overtakes are that bit easier... just imagine a 999 lump in the Multi... the ultimate road tool maybe?

Glad you enjoyed it! Battery went flat on my phone 5 minutes after arriving at Hawes. Was going to nip over to Devils but spent to long talking to Celine in the Cafe. That French accent of hers always keeps me hanging about ;)

Was a few Multis out, Saw one just after I set off which must have been Winston with his lad on the back? Also bumped into Wolfie at Settle who was out on his, and of course your good self Ian.

Plenty of Bikes out for middle of January and it really wasnt that cold. Roads were actually pretty dry all the way up to Hawes and it felt weird getting some half decent lean angles at this time of year.

My Multi feels as if its been given another 20bhp, put a full Staintune exhaust on and recently reshimmed the valves (which were miles out) A combination of the two makes it feel much livelier (watch out KTMs!)

Have to meet up Ian (I will bring my tool kit) What do you want me to do with your clutch tool?

I couldn't agree more with you Jon. I only bought my S4 as a stop gap till the insurance had paid up for a certain other bike that we both know rather well !
Would i now sell my S4 and buy a Sportsbike?.. NO WAY its the most fun ive had on 2 wheels

Aye their the future, although I was getting worried last time we were out with you all over my mirrors for a good few miles, poor KTM was thrashed within an inch of it's life LOL!! :D

Yep Martin it was me with my lad in tow. What a great day, just a little bit windy from Settle to Devil's Bridge. I was going to go down to Hawes afterwards but didn't have time after seeing so many people out at the Bridge. There were two people there on them big touring GS BMW thingy's. One of them had a massive tank it looked like a duck-billed platypus (I hope I've spealt that right). I went out on mine on new years eve for five hours during the day and that was brilliant, hardly any traffic.
