Hi,
Just had my 24k service carried out by DG. As always excellent service and friendly atmosphere.
Many thanks
Geoff

Yes, they are a nice bunch, A long way from me but as I have said in another thread I only wish that I had sorted a deal with Martin on my 749R before being 'loyal' to my local dealer.

I only hope that the dealer sorts me a good p/ex deal as he had initally agreed if my bike did not sell as it was with all the parts left on.
I cannot see why not, I get on well with them and have bought about a dozen bikes or more from them over the years along with countless £1000's on parts.

It just goes to show in your case customer loyalty is on a one way street, is it too late to try DG or DL or another dealer on a two way street again?

The problem is that if I now change dealers I will have to sell my bike now to them and wait until probably July for a bike. the summer is nearly over then !

All I can do is hope that they honour what they said when I placed my order about taking my bike in p/ex standard !

If I were you Ian I would take my bike out of there....use it for the summer....cancel your order and buy a new/2nd hand one next spring. That way you win and they lose.....just my opinion mind :)

You know that's not a bad idea Davie, probably the best you've had in some time ;)

Seriously though Ian all I've read from you over the last few months is how crap your local dealer is (don't take that personally) but you're still sucked into this whole loyalty thing and the way the picture is painted it sounds more like you=loyalty, them=mug

Keep the R, take all the bling off sell those bits on over the summer then either get a year old 1098 or wait for next years tweaked version (you know what Ducati are like) or order an R next year :D

After reading what Jon and Davie put then I think keeping the R till next year is an excellent option, ride it some more during the summer and test ride the various 1098 the dealers have and give it a thorough comparison to the R. Then buy a new or used with the bling or get the next special! There will be one so Ducati can kickstart the sales with a 'new' bike next year and the publicity that comes with it. Stash the money you would have spent in the Building society or Premium bonds:)
