Taken from Bishop Auckland, County Durham 28/03/2008.

Red 851 with 955 motor, it's been posted up on the DSC/DOC forums a lot and I think that it's well known in the 888/851 community.

REG : H78AVK
Engine No: ZDM916W4008451
Frame No: 001839
Incident No: DHM-28032008-0276

The bike is mint and is easily recogniseable, full termi spaghetti system, carbon panels & tank, Mag cases, Harris Yokes and is stacked with Corse parts. If anybody is offered the bike, any parts or hears of any 'under the counter' offers then please get in touch with PC2470 Martin Allison on 0845 6060365 or DC 533 Dave McChesney on 07879604908.

sorry to hear this Neil.... gutted won't go anywhere near close to summing up your feelings :(

crap, all that hard work getting it sorted and no matter what the insurance offer it won't cover the time spent Neil. Hope plod can find it for you its not like it could be sold easily without being recognised

Gutted for you Neil, I remember the pics of it during rebuild, looked a belter. Hope it comes home safe n sound.

Gutted doesn't seem a strong enough word and I hope the low life scum that nicked it get enough bad karma to have their extremeties freeze and drop off like little black charred slugs.....

But...in saying that....the bike sounds well known to 888/851 community, and not trying to make anyone paranoid, but who the f*** would nick such a beautiful bike.
A Joy rider - or more likely someone breaking for parts?
A jealous person for own use?
A dealer (use the term loosely) with overseas client? - try posting same on US and European sites?
Track day junkies?
Neil - have you got any links to photos of specific tasty parts you had on the bike?

Is there anyone with advice or links of where to post the details on other sites - not that stolen Ducatis are common on here but it would be useful to be able to refer to a set of usable links if the worse happens.

Dreadful feeling having a bike stolen. Especially one as special as this.

I suppose you have already posted on all the GB Ducati sites but have you also posted on Ducati world wide sites? Just a thought following the previous post?

Had a car stolen once and I believe it ended up in the IOM via Irish ferry - worth considering if it was stolen to order.

Thanks for that Michael.
Although the write up goes some way to giving details, I'm guessing the thieving people will possibly break the bike down to small bits for disposal - if it's broke - so best be on look out for magnesium casings? and carbon dash clocks with no speedo?

sorry to hear about your bike being stolen. I can imagine how you must feel, especially after everything that has been done to it.
Was it taken from your garage?

all thanks for the kind words, the bike was taken from an alarmed garage - it was also chained to a ground anchor - making me think that it's been taken by a 'specialist' and not the usual druggy low life.
cheers

Have sent the info and pics to a friend who works with Stena. He's a biker and says he'll pass it around. Hope this is okay.:)

cheers man, every little helps - although I'm losing hope of seeing her again as the days go by...
thanks

Neil
