Much shit in the media on the "Will They" or "Won't They" shit-show.

Wot they never talk about is fares. Between Cam & Dursley and London by train, I could fly anywhere in Europe for less. If they are going to allow mad train fares on whatever bit of SS2 gets built, nobody will use it, anyway. Why do you have to be a right-wing politician to not be able to see this?
 
The simplest equasion was how many minutes saved vs money spent, it never added up.

I saw Andy Burnham playing the victims upte north card again But minds brighter than mine would say the north does better than most. Think about Cornwall and Devon, most of Wales, Northern Ireland and rural Scotland and how much hs2 money so far could have improved the areas who need a reliable service.

Anywhere other than the bigger cities.
 
All true. Mid-Wales, Somerset, Devon, and Cornwall get progressively worse. But these are all places that I would love to live in. Scotland as well. I do not get why anyone would think that I would be put off moving to these places as I would be thinking, "it just takes too long to get to London, so that rules out living there!". Even Manchester has nice affordable places, so why would I be put off by the commute time to London? And saving thirty minutes makes all the difference?
