inserting push rods into aftermarket adjustable brake/clutch levers

hi, just purchased adjustable brake/clutch levers on ebay without push rods for my 2007 1098s. so the first thing i tried to do was remove the push rods from my OEM 2007 levers but it is impossible. so i will have to buy 2 push rods that are compatible . is this a safe option ? . are they all compatible for brembo fixings/levers ?. my worry would be if they can slot in, whats stopping them slipping out.

Stick with OEM, i have been down this road and fuck me it just is not worth it. Just my take on a stupid Italian nightmare.

It should be possible to remove the oem.

the levers are completely different. the push rods are set inside the OEM levers,but on the after market ones there is a round slot for the push rod on one side. in the photo you can see that they cannot slide out of the OEM ones,obviously for safety reasons.

Try and find yourself a socket, that will allow you to tap out the round, silver coloured part of the oem levers, without contacting the black anodised lever itself. Once you have tapped out that round, silver component, you will be able to slide out the oem plunger that you need for your new aftermarket levers. At least that’s how it worked for my 2015 mts 1200, and the oem levers looked exactly like yours

i tried that with a bigger nylock connected to the centre pin and it would not move,maybe a socket will push it out. i,m just wondering if there is any difference between a 2007 lever and your 2015 ones. did the push rods stay in position and work properly
