Been cleaning the engine this week, started stripping everything off the crank cases today. Engine looks spotless inside and pristine, nothing on the gauze filter under the sump - just loads of dirt to get off the outside of the crank cases - then they will be sprayed. Most of the paint is in good nick so just a couple of light coats will suffice.
I'll probably get the cam cover, output shaft cover and sump blasted and cerakoted.
Ordered the seals for the output shaft cover today (still available from Kawasaki!) and a reasonably cheap gasket kit off Amazon for the few I'll require - the head gasket / base gasket and valve guides out of the kit will be junked as I have the pukka ones which came yesterday.
Started cleaning the valves today (2 done) which were well carboned up but a few soaks in Harpic 10X did the trick.

Yeh, I only spotted them lil defects when I loaded the photo!
See post #163 - I did the Stainless valves with Harpic 10X with a few 10 to 15 minute soaks and most of the carbon just fell away. So on the aluminium pistons I used the same to a lesser degree. Just spread it on the top surface with an old tooth brush, left for 5 mins and rinse / repeat twice. Then scotch-bright followed with 800 and 1200 wet & dry for only a few seconds each grade.

Here, have a bit of chassis geometry to keep occupied in the mean time with my median squat angle - changing it though now with the rear shock work which will take the IFC point forward and reduce the squat angle, but it will still be multi adjustable anyhoo.
