YesIs it road legal with no rear lights?
Day time MOT's have never been a thingThey still do daytime only mot's?
Just a Svelte waist you mincerWhen did you have the op stueena![]()
All it needs, as far as I know, is a red reflector at the back. If that is the case, IT'S STILL NOT FINISHED !!They still do daytime only mot's?
You are wrong about the reflector, I thought you knew what you were doing and now I am very very disappointed in youAll it needs, as far as I know, is a red reflector at the back. If that is the case, IT'S STILL NOT FINISHED !!
Plus, the engine oil issue, might get finished before the end of this year though, but until then, IT'S STILL NOT FINISHED !!![]()
Is the non-triangular, red rear reflector that should be fitted at a minimum height of 250mm & a maximum height of 900mm only required then if the motorcycle has lights ? Or is it simply not a MOT requirement ? (Just curious !You are wrong about the reflector, I thought you knew what you were doing and now I am very very disappointed in you. But I guess if you have made a 3D printed one before fitting, now you won't need to buy one
, or are you putting lights on it that will never be used
as it will never be finished
My Oil Way is sorted thanks, fitting the bung tonight when my mate brings is roundand I am currently in discussion with Electrex World regarding correcting the issue and will provide them with a simple solution. They do however say they have had no oiling issues in over 10 years of selling this unit which is surprising. The owner Peter who designed it died in January this year

Yes, technically if you have no lights you don't have a rear reflector in the MOT rules. Is the non-triangular, red rear reflector that should be fitted at a minimum height of 250mm & a maximum height of 900mm only required then if the motorcycle has lights ? Or is it simply not a MOT requirement ? (Just curious !)
Good news about the oil-way bung
They must have had people ring up about the issue, the guy on the Z1 Owners forum contacted them about it, maybe they're just ignoring it !! Very strange whatever their excuse !!![]()
Fair enough, sort of makes sense about the reflector !!Yes, technically if you have no lights you don't have a rear reflector in the MOT rules.
The fella that I'm emailing says he has no history of an issue and no notes in the product file mentioning it but he has a spare engine there so was going to look into it. I wonder if by luck more than judgement there has never been an engine failure accredited to it. That gallery feeds the head and the main crank bearings too!
I think the Z1 Owners Forum fella is on here now wondering how long it will take you to finish your buildhe can't have joined for mine as it finished

When you see the 12.5mm bore of the gallery Vs the small bore up to the head it's surprising tbh as a huge % must flow out and back to the sump.Fair enough, sort of makes sense about the reflector !!
I'm guessing that because the "normal" oil pressure is so low, it's possible that the oil pump pumps enough quantity/volume of oil to keep the oil pressure up to a level that is acceptable.
Because the cranks roller bearings would need a fair flow of oil through them this theory sort of make sense. It's quite possible that if the crank had shell bearings, which require a lot more pressure to get the oil into them, that there would have been a few more engine failures & ElectrexWorld would be a bit more intune with the potential issue. Basically they have been very lucky !!
Sounds like ya screwed.. now even if you wanted to ride it outside the kitchen , which let's be honest, was never gunna happen, ya can't!!! Track hack? When you see the 12.5mm bore of the gallery Vs the small bore up to the head it's surprising tbh as a huge % must flow out and back to the sump.
I did notice that the pressure gauge was showing zero until revved a little, but found a turbo bike with the same base engine on an eBay Video showing exactly the same readings on the same gauge so put it down to the gauge itself not being accurate. It will be interesting to see if it changes!
I tried to put the number plate on today on-line and it said: this number cannot be allocated to this vehicle so I papped myself.
Found a thread on Pistonheads that mentioned if the vehicle hadn't been taxed in the last 5 years it will automatically say this and you have to post everything off but it has to be taxed as well as the MOT to do so. I will wait until the 1st April (@Chizel - Founding Father s birthday) to tax it and then post everything off
I phoned the help line and they confirmed it had to be taxed or SORN, but they said I can't SORN it as it has been off the road prior to the SORN system materialising![]()
