Laavas new project. Cadet/Mountaineer

I had to google that. Doesnt apply to NZ. High speed in relation to rail in NZ means two things; firstly how fast your treasured freight would disappear between depots and secondly how quickly the infrastructure falls into disrepair.

So I picked this up today. Is a Cadet/Mountaineer motor circa 1964. It fitted nicely in the topbox of my mentalstrada. Where is the rest of it? Was hoping someone could help me with that!
I have a lead on a frame, rolling, poss with tank and guards, hard to tell as the current owner can't be arsed sorting thru all his junk to actually confirm. He has a shed full of stuff so not criticising, just that is the way it is at the moment. Will be an actual barn find as opposed to a bike that has been stored. I am hoping to visit him in feb on my way back from the south island trip we have plannedView attachment 93803View attachment 93804View attachment 93805
(y) Nice!

Right. Cover your eyes if you’re easily offended! The frame turned up today courtesy of my good riding mate Richard. Seen better days is an understatement.

Thanks Noobie, I can not access these listings from an NZ based search so very helpful to have a link! The tank may or may not be needed but I should know within a week as I am starting an electrolysis bath today. Very experimental for me.

The guy with the tank in the UK just flat out refused to post to NZ. What difference does it make? He just finds out the cost, adds it on, and chucks it in a box and drops it off, surely? Weird…

I don't mind buying it and sending it on if its what you want, I trust ya :D At his price of £55 + postage £12 that works out at around $139 NZ and that's before postage to yourself?
