Zane bikes,are there any recommended forums/info pages .......a quick search doesn't throw up much :comp2:
 
Not sure Col, but it used to be Slater Bros and Monty Don's.....With all the interest in the Laverda I wish I had never sold my, Mirage 1200, then Jota, then 500 sport then a "t" reg Monty!!!!!:eek: B@@locks!!!:D

Cheers Michael,got a couple of these the others are spot on to :thumbs:

I'm hoping the S4 ownership will be smooth but a Guy needs something to give him a baw ache ;)
 
My experience of a lot of Laverda club owners has sadly been more than a bit disappointing.
There are a few real good guys but for every one of those there seems to be 5 that are so far up their own posteriors they must never see daylight.
I have been an ILOC member for a few years and the over-riding impression I have is that the vast majority look down their nose in disdane on anything other than a Breganze bike. Even then it HAS to be a triple.
There is a hard nucleus in the club that seem to think the universe revolves around them and unless you have Piero Laverda's telephone number in you mobile you are a total loser.
I actually asked on the Forum why there was so little about Zane bikes and I don't think I even got an answer!
My advice would be don't waste your money joining the ILOC with a Zane bike.
Stick to the links Michael has put up but don't part with cash in the hope of getting pearls of wisdom.:rolleyes:

yeah I've noticed there is little discussion on the Zane bikes in the few forums I did find :thumbs:
 
have noticed on some of the other ducati forums that there is a bit of the snobbish "how dare you have a different opinion to me!" view. generally the self appointed forum police types. find it best to just ignore them

I'm on Laverdaforum a lot and I've always found them really helpful.
There is a bit of an anti-Zane bias it's true but I think people are getting a bit more positive about them as time goes along.
As is the inevitable way with classic fora there's a tendency to idolise the rare & esoteric over the mainstream. So a big orange Jota is rather unfashionable if there's the option of a wire wheel 3C or 750 American Eagle.

Give them a try & make up your own mind.

Cheers Robbie,think I have just about been accepted even though I'm after a Zane bike...only started one post right enough:D

Within the half hour I had someone offering me a bike :lol2:
I've also registered on the Zanelist yahoo group thing,holy shiote there is some amount of info on there once you go digging:eek:

Glad you are getting useful info. Just to clarify I referred to parting with £25 to join the ILOC rather than some of the forums which are free.
I have not renewed my membership this year as the few folk I had contact with on there that were good guys I now have their email address anyway now.
 
The yahoo Zanelist site is not very user friendly but appears to have mega amounts of info...I only got accepted this morning so ain't had a good dig about it.
 
Just found the Laverda appreciation board on here :confused: :comp2:

I'll have secret spending fund within the week,sweaty palms already,bike lift is empty,garage looks weird :D
