I would ride the bike with the DB screen before you take it off and then change it and after riding it, I reckon you'll soon put it back on. The original screen is the right height to direct the wind blast straight into your helmet which results in your neck aching fairly quickly. The DB makes the air go over your helmet and at the same time directs the air onto your shoulders thus relieving the weight on your wrists. You will soon get used to the way it looks :)

...I know what you mean having ridden many different guises on this theme. My most favoured would be the sort of racing screens the likes of Foggy, Whitham and Corser used on their bikes; high but not double bubble.
We'll see. :)

Excellent....looking at the pics and reading your description, I was thinking, "it's a keeper" and that was the next sentence!
Have fun!

have to agree with you on the screens, form over function and all that but its just not what the 54444444 designers envisioned. I have reverted the 749 to the factory screen and painted it blck from the inside. a much nicer look to the bike if a little blustery at 69 - 70 mph ;)

Paint from the inside?
Gotta agree with original screen over the DB screen though - the DB's look sooo Jap.

Stunning bike Ed, nice one!

I use a zero gravity screen on the 996. It's actually the sports touring one and Its higher than standard without actually being a double bubble....

...got a pic of that you could show me. I've just won one of ebay whichis from a 998S FE, quite like the smoked bottom bit. :)

Wow, When you described the colour scheme when we were at Knockhill I wasn't sure how it would look. I was completely wrong it looks amazing especially the wheels.

Wishing you many happy days riding.

very nice
yellow clutch is a nice touch!

...err, I cleaned that up and sprayed it PJ1 satin black today. I hated it!!!! :)
jasper has sold me a carbon half-cover which will cover the thing up anyway. :)

Congrats on the new bike Ed. :)
I've got a buyer for the double bubble screen should you wish to dispose of it.

Happy new bike, goes very well with your Imola and Desmosedici, which I didn't see in the latest picture ?? :D :D
