I just read the new V2 engine has 30,000km valve checks. How come, if it’s springs like in the V4 GT engine, they can’t get 60,000km out of it?

18K is the valve check interval on my KTM. However it's got to 60,000 miles and is still within limits.
It all depends on how easy they are to do. On KTMs it's a pretty simple job. On some I/L four sports bikes with lots of bodywork, lots of valves and twin-spar frames it's an all-day job. That's when the intervals start to matter.

On the Blackbirds it was advised as an inspection at 24k, but most than ran over 100k miles when checked, saw no need in change

Depends, I think, on the nature of the bike and how it's ridden as well. A mate had an S1000R and on his first valve check he had twelve reshimmed, it took the dealer all day and cost a fortune. But he did hammer the bike, and it's by nature a high revving engine.

48K of hard going, never had to adjust the valves, all I did was change from the honda hydraulic cam chain tensioner to a manual one, change oil and filters often.
The genny and R/R issues where a different story.
