Ohlins steering dampner 916

Has any one else had problems with the dampner rubbing on their tank?
If so what do I need to replace, the mounting bracket?
Took it apart but me being me still dont know what the problem is.
Any help would be great

I have the same problem with a std. damper.It would appear to be a design fault.As a cure/bodge I stuck a piece of velcro on to the tank below the damper to stop the paintwork getting damaged.

I had a small amount of tape to stop it rubbing, It didn't do it when I first got it, I thought it may be the mounting bracket, there seems to be too much play on it, thought I would ask on here though as advice is allways good.
I dont want the paint comming off my tank, its annoying!

mine (showa) did this too, turned out to be a missing o-ring in one of the swivelly bits and a crack in the seam of the bracket. replaced under warrenty and all is well
