Oil breather suggestions

Well, never bothered doing much to the Smart but am now thinking I could "tidy up" a couple of the things that I don't like. I'm not wanting a custom look with out of place bling just a "cleaner" feel to the bike with some of the black plastic removed and a more 70's 750SS appearance

First up is the black plastic oil breather, only options I've seen are the pig ugly DPP part or the Puretec ones, race and 2 part but I have no idea what would be best, anyone used the Puretec ones or got any other suggestions?

next up is the black plastic battery box, I'm thinking about using LiFePO4--A123 superlights stuck under the seat, it might mean moving the regulator forward but it could go in the fairing and in the air flow. Has anyone got any experience with this type of battery? or any other suggestions?

I was looking at a breather tower setup like the old bevels had, but so far haven't found anything I can just bolt on.

They are listed here but I heven't seen pictures of them.
The one I saw was a part for a Baines Imola so it might be worth dropping them a line to ask about it.

I think they may require a bit of machining to fit whatever they were designed for.

I had a K&N filter directly attached to my monsters crankcase but have removed it for the time being, I may look around for a length of suitable hose to space it out a little and mount the filter higher up in the frame where it can protrude at the side slightly

Theres this also

If I'm honest I dont know what I'd do with this, cant figure out whether it just replaces the breather plug with a taller one or is also a filter,or just a spacer for the filter. It wasnt the one I was thinking of anyhow.

I have a Moto-Wheels race billet breather on all my 800ss bikes - beautiful bit of kit. The race bike has a bit of tube straight from this to a K&N filter hidden under the seat - it does the job nicely and neatly.

For added effect you could get some braided hose from NBM Woolford to make it look even better - I didn't as I'm weight conscious!

That's balls. Shazaam might be a clever chap, but I disagree with him on this one as I done on quite a few other issues. my set up is a 3 piece reed valve job.

I've been looking for a neater solution for a couple of years for the monster and still haven't found an easy way of doing it.
There is something in what twpd says about things like braided hoses etc., sometimes the best way to hide what you consider to be ugly or plain features is to actually make a feature of them and by fitting a billet alloy breather plug with a braided steel hose going to the underseat breather box may be a way of improving the look without changing the functionality.
I may end up doing this at some stage though my 'bling' list is long and my budget is more limited.:D
I do have something on order though.;)

I'd like to see that if you have any pictures.
Perhaps what Shazaam was dealing with though was the tendancy for most folk to just bolt the K&N filter straight onto the crankcase (like I did,- I removed mine as I couldnt sort out an easy way to get rid of the breather boxes and will return to this at some stage.)

I will take some photos tomorrow.

Venting to the airbox is a really bad thing to do. It causes power loss - certainly on my race bike and it's measurable on the dyno. Dumping warm air into the intake via the airbox goes against all good practice for engine breathing.
Venting to a filter on the crankcase itself if not good because any leakage past the filter runs the risk of getting onto the rear wheel so, the safest thing to do and to stay broadly within ACU regs is to vent up a long hose to the filter at the rear of the seat. The reed valve has enough clearance around it to allow any mist that condenses to run back past into the cases.

On road bikes and on my bike with its limited power, the theory that Shazaam talks about just isn't an issue.
