Project Superspurt

Frank, do you have a fuel shut off fitted?

No Ian, I did re-new the main seat (whatever the hell its called) and if leaving the bike for anytime I close the OEM, knuckle skin removing valve.

Next time around I think I'll fit a good quality snap connector somewhere easily accessible to just pull apart - like Aprilia fit as standard ;-)

Not trying to hijack thread but feel it's relevant to the build. I took everything off and fitted inline filter and fuel tap. Seems to be fixed...... Pulls like a train!!!

The best thing I have done to bike, it's like its on steroids, lol!

I am jealous, its looking awesome, love the colour and old-school lettering.

Hopefully my next project is as clean and shiney but somehow I doubt it!

Fuel Pump - internal Y-piece

Despite having all sorts of fancy ideas about how I was going to deal with the the back flow from the carb I just fitted the OEM Y-piece in place of the filter.
I'm now really scratching my head as to why Ducati did things the way they did  as 'my' way has so many advantages and the fuel circuit is identical apart from the returned fuel has not been through the main filter, but so what?

A very slight restriction in the "return" pipe would provide a positive pressure to the supply pipe.

Yes indeed - but I like your accuracy! My holes are always ever-so-slightly off centre. Or is that try #20? :)

My son used to be very useful by having lots of punctures on his BMX, giving me a never ending source of inner tubes (or so I thought). Now he drives a car :mmph:.

Finished!

It was MOT'ed on Saturday :D

Still a few wee bits to tidy up, gearchange spring to sort out and no it's not missing a fairing fastener.

Next time I'll finish the bike then do the thread ;)

Superb - please dont say the forks came from a 1098, just sold my Ohlins sprung set as I initally thought they would only work with 330mm discs...

Ye ha finally finished, I was looking at my TT and street scrambler the other day and thought this is taking an age to get finished or find the enthusiasm then I remembered about this thread.
Looks great though well done. p.s. it was a baked tattie not soup!!! :lol2:

I'm speechless, though i shouldn't be surprised,, absolutely beautiful, Ducati could learn a bit from your styling, though they've proably started drawings on a production version…… is it going to Oban …

Like Johnny, I'm speechless. There ain't enough words in my volcabulary to express how good this looks.

Your attention to detail, during all the stages of the build, was nothing short of incredible.

In a way, I'm actually disappointed that it's finished; no more bespoke engineering solutions to look forward to.

Now get out there and enjoy it. I can't wait to see it close up.

Fantastic!

Really looks fresh and sorted. Reminds me that I've actually got a bike to finish :o What did you do for the set pad?

The seat pads are from Brancato Alex but I have new OEM ones too in case the Brancato ones turn out a bit harsh
