Yeah, they guy who owned the house before the previous owner was a DIY nut, but a poor one. He botched loads of jobs in the house, and the outside. He laid a monoblock drive, but very poorly. The house sits sideways on a hill so over the last 10 years the blocks on the drive have been slowly settling down and sliding sideways, pushing agianst the wall. The foundations were poor and event theough he put in supports, the were only cemneted to the wall, not tied into it!!!
The new wall has new, deeper foundations, with extra supports tied in.
