something a little different... we were off to see Bruce Springsteen last thursday in Coventry and decided to stopover rather than driving back... i then thought 'we're half way to Wales' and so decided to head down to Pendine Sands for the inaugural Pendine Sands landspeed Racing Club meeting :lol2: whilst there had been beach racing post war, there hadnt been a time trials/LSR time meeting since the 1920s..
interesting selection of bikes were wheeled out, the main crterea was pre-1990 aircooled.. the course was a 1 kilometer run up followed by a flying timed mile with a KM slow down area.
the weather was a bit sh!te on saturday with strong winds and occasional showers.. still some of the racing went ahead.. we didnt hang around for the sunday as weather wsnt forecast much better, which not only curtailled some of the runs but also meant the spectators area was reduced as well... anyway, an interesting event especially as it was only a few months from conception to happening, and looks liek it will happen again...
