Raid the Lakes 2006

Can I just say.......much as I love watching it......stuff the Moto Gp.....its repeated anyway and you know who's gonna win. There, I feel better.
 
10/11 June will be same time as Appleby Horse fair so there'll be a lot of loose horses, tinkers caravans on the roads and verges :(

yeah, you wouldn't want to live in any of those fellside villages, its 3 weeks of major disruption. I don't think it should put us off that date if its the best we can find to avoid clashes, we'll just have to make everyone aware that the horses are loose on the roads and you can't rip past them, its only the east side of M6 that is affected anyway.
 
Twas a two dayer last year mate, look in the Routes section, Day one was South-West and North Lakes, day 2 was 'Up the middle, I'm just adding piccies at the moment !

A few stayed up Sat night and we did the local Italian, twas fun !
 
Ahhhhhhhh..so I need accomadation? That sounds good fun.......now...who has a spare bed??? ;) Bearing in mind I have a nice 3 bedroom semi, 1 double, 1 single with jaacuzi bathroom and a garage for all your trips up North.

As you say, most of the nags are on the other side of the M6, I don't really think that it will hinder us TBH.

Shall we call it a date ?

There were a few who only did one day last year Davie, the ridings good and from your place it'll make a top day out. you could do A701 down, oohhh that and the A6, A686 back up late in the evening on A7.
 
It was easier to do two days than just one and let people down, last year the event was held around routes we would ride anyway so it was no harship to have some Ducatis along with us, well ok it was a bit of hassle :rolleyes:
 
Sorry Davie, just reread the thread properly, we may have room depending upon who's coming, I've already promised more beds out than we have beds or floor space :) 2 days is the best option as if its one its not worth the ride north for a lot of southerners. I might have an invite only Friday night Hartside group as well, quick blast to Cart's Bog Inn for dinner then a little bit of play on the way home :)
 
Would love to offer a room, I just don't have the space really, could be floorspace, don't have bike space though !
 
This rideout looks fun.....new roads, people and scenery for me. Im definately up for it. What do you think the best thing to do is? Any cheap B&B's near by yourselves. Im not clued up on the geography down there.

There's loads of B and B's, its "the Lake District" so nowt's cheap though :), try buying a house here!!

I'm going to check 10/11 June with the campsite tomorrow, if its available I'll book it. we'll then pull a list of accommodation etc together and I'll add a page to the main site with all those details. We can then start getting a team of helpers together.
 
One idea from last year was to give any campers an address to get their kit couriered to then it could be dropped at the site, saves panniering it, its something that I am sure will be discussed.
