Welcome aboard Shoey, I don't think there are any posts the are hidden to non registered viewers? A few times people have turned up on meets / rideouts who aren't registered on the site but follow the threads or read the info, the more the merrier :) Keep an eye out for stuff happening in neck of the woods, quite a few here from you area

Yes welcome aboard Shoey.

I'm not normally so opinionated, being the originator of this thread. I was a bit pished last Tuesday evening having spent the evening with SteveK (biscuit) and drinking a few too many ciders!!!

...I'm normally a very quiet member without much to say..... ;) :D

Hi Shoey and welcome to the forum.:D

I'll have a cup of tea please.:tea:

There are quite a few of us in Ayrshire and one of the runs this year left from Monkton. The next Scottish Ducati Club meeting is at Ducati Glasgow next Thursday night, why not come along and meet other Ducati owners. You'll be sure of a warm welcome.:D

Oh Oh Looks like your thread has been taken over Ed, Welcome aboard Shoey I'll have a brandy if you are buying

I know how you feel about this, and its been something of an issue we have had on 400greybike.co.uk
When we changed forum i set it so if anyone advertised bikes for sale no one could reply, nor could the post be bumped but it could be edited. However paid up supporters can do what they like and reply.
Parts wanted and for sale are open house and fair game.

I do believe some come to sell thier bikes, and as such offer fresh meat to the market, its a pain in the ass from a forum admins point of view leaving loads of dead accounts, but again i have a rule. 12 months of no entry delete the account, any mails that get bounced to dead or non existing accounts, again bin the account it belonged too.

The most annoying thing was somone just trying to punt an old clapped out FZR racer for 5k and bump it daily, clearly overpriced tat and dreaming but filling the database all the same.

overall it does bring fresh parts and bikes to a buyers market.

...Oh, I used to be a member of that, I guess my membership has now lapsed!!! :p

Ed, i wasn't too bothered about the odd one post seller, TBH if it helps a Duc owner move his bike then thats OK and if someone did sell from a post on upnorth I'd hope they would consider making a donation , that applies to parts and owt else sold and is mentioned in the for sale forum rules.

I used to moderate posts to limit the potential to run businesses bike trading but as we don't get a problem I've removed the moderation, it doesn't make sense to prevent people replying or limiting access, prefer to think that most would appreciate the fact that they can post here for free but given its limited readership I don't think I can charge MCN type rates just yet.

If anyone is bothered about the first time post for sale just don't read the thread :)
