One very nice 999 type with Xerox fairing. Was it you?

And why was I there in the rain? Why, fellow Ducatists, to collect my Monster from M&S of course. Some impostor drove it home for me as I am currently incapacitated. You know who you are.....

Thought you'd never ask Steve! Still there last time I looked, pot should be off mid sept, earlier if I'm very lucky

How's your pile of bits, sorry, bike, getting along? You repaired the driveway yet?

LOL Jan, the box of 'spares' (bits no longer on it) is gettin bigger, the driveway dont look to good, but it can stay that way for damageing me bike. I hope for the 'very lucky' option and quick recovery

Could it indeed have been the one that Martin DG raced the Tornado on?

(And ta for that, Steve mate!)

How Were M+S Then?

The dealer that refused me a test ride that then missed out on me buying (new) a 749 followed by my 999? Can they service the bikes as well?

Personally i would not ask M+S to service any bike if i had another alternative available. That is my own personal opinion and it's based on past experiences of friends of mine.

Then I made the right choicewith Duc Weegie

Thanks for re-assuring me that it has been worth going 150 miles to get my bike seen to. Surely a retailer that tries to be everything to everyone can never be a specialist on one. See Alvins for proof. Most galling aspect of dealing with Alvins was receiving a 90th generation photocopy congratulating me for buying my new KTM (what!!!) from them. Thank god for the weegies.

Just for the record, my repair was done under warranty (and with great reluctance) and I had to take my bike back 3 (three) times for them to get it right. Fair do, M&S finally got it right but for servicing I'll be looking to Ducati Glasgow I think.

Oh, and M&S are well known for not offering test rides, me and a mate caused a real fuss one weekend about it in the showroom! They've lost big money that way from personal experience alone. I eventually bought mine without ever riding it, but only because I couldn't leave the place without it!

If you look in the october issue of T.W.O they have a buying guide on S4 and one of the problems pointed out is the one you had with your tank and the hinge area leaking petrol.

I know exactly what you mean! I have a monnie 600 in the back yard insured just needs tax & test and I might have another if nobody puts another bid in!;)
