The Trouble has an on off relationship with bikes and sold her last bike, a Suzuki SV650 Gladius about 18 months ago. The last few months she has been talking about riding again and she commented how nice my Monster looks. I didn`t say anything to her but kept an eye out and recently spotted a smaller version of mine , an S2R800. Mine is the 1000 so its a little less powerful but crucially it is more friendly for occasional riders as it weighs a bit less, has a much easier clutch and more gentle and smooth power delivery.
You have probably gathered that I went ahead with the purchase and it seems all good. Its a standard bike barring handlebar risers and has fsh albeit with a very big gap when the last owner stopped using it. He did apparently maintain it while it was out of use. Anyway, I took it for a belt service and MOT this week and collect it probably tomorrow evening. The cunning plan is to wheel it in to the house when Sally has gone to bed so its a surprise for her on Saturday morning.
My only concern is that as she is only 5`5" so it may be a little tall for her especially as its been a while since she last rode so she`ll be feeling nervous I imagine.
Anyway, watch this space as I`ll either report back to confirm how many points I earned or be telling you all that its up for sale.

Never had a Monster but as a side note from reading something on the Monster owners with short legs they drop the pre load on the rear shock then as time goes by you can put more pre load on, just a thought. :unsure: (y)
