Sadly Tam hit some ice on the Stirling bypass this afternoon.

Seems he's hurt his knee, don't think it's too bad. Some damage to the bike though which is a shame as he'd just fitted a shedload of new bits.

Tam!

Hope you're OK mate - chin up - stiff upper lip etc..

C'mon buddy, let us know you're OK

"Well anestitised, lol. Just banged me knee. feckin @@@@cil hadn't gritted that bit of the road. Just touched the ice with my front wheel and wheech, doon. Road was clear right after that bit. Bent the bars, rear brake lever, front indicator glass, throttle grip, grased front fairing and cracked me carbon heel plate. Had just had a new rear tyre, chain and sprokets fitted. Legs just bruised, was slowin 4 the roundabout. Nothin i could do."

Sorry to here about this Tam. You've had more than your fair share of bad luck so I hope it's not too bad. I can only wish you a speedy recovery - and maybe a lottery win would help too.:)

Tam,
Glad to hear your no deid anyway and hope you mend soon, pity about the damage to your bike though. :(
For nearly 30 years, until about 5 years ago, I used to ride a bike all year round - winter, summer, rain, shine, snow, ice. I learned very quickly that you need 2 bikes. A good one with all the bling for summer and good weather and an old nail for the winter. One which doesn't matter if you throw it down the road nor if it gets covered in road salt and the subsequent rust. The initial outlay of 5 or 6 hundred quid on a 10 to 15 year old bike is good insurance against what it could cost you when your pride and joy slides down the road. And if you ride all winter it's really a matter of when come off the bike not if.
So either listen to Davie and get a car or buy another bike to ride to work on and save your Duc for the good times.

oh tam! your such a poor wee soul! poor you i cannae believe it! good thing you're ok though. you really do have the most awful luck . Well have a wee nip on me - seeing as i still cant have a drink and hope you're right as rain soon.

Alright mate....

As long as you're ok ...

Bike can be fixed...let someone else worry about that...You take it easy..
