With Haslams race school's last track day last month bringing an end to 24 years of that race school and California Superbike School closing in October 2019, are we seeing the end of race schools or are these just glitches amongst a healthy pool?

Track days have for most who have used them, not only have been a cracking day out but also probably the best spend per pound in teaching riders a confidence level to fully understand their capabilities.

Where do you see race schools future?
 
It had gone into liquidation in dec 2019, blaming brexit and falling numbers of riders attending track day courses.

I believe it was re-created and found a new owner in June this year, right in the middle of covid. If they could not get enough riders attending pre covid to keep the school afloat, then a summer season amongst 8 months of covid will not be a positive for the bank balance and future of the relaunched track day relaunched company

I hope they do. I pressume buy buying it from liquidators in the middle of covid that they got it for a good price. It will be interesting to see if the financial package they have is sustainable when you add funds to buy and no income coming in.

It is a precarious time given da yoof, don't seem to be following our youth days, into bikes in the numbers that would see a long term forecast for bikes and the subset of track day riders
 
I think they will be ok. Plenty of people want to do them. Can’t imagine company overheads are large other than any cash committed or paid to tracks. And don’t know how that model works. Although I was told by a friends of Dave Mabbut that Hottrax were ok until MSV insisted they were paid upfront for all races after the season had started. Put them under and plenty were thousands out of pocket as they’d taken the deal of 20% or so discount if paying whole season up front.
