What to see

Morning all, off to Chesters, Hawick, The Scottish Borders in a couple of weeks to see the Hizzy museum and all that. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me what else is good to see. I know you do a Hizzy run every year and thought who better to ask. I've read his book and know he lived in a pub for a bit so was going to go there if it's still open. Just things like that anyway. Cheers. Rob

spoilt for choice of good roads in the boarders i think St Marys loch if worth a visit scenery wise

Most of the border towns are quite picturesque, roads are better. Depends how long you are staying, is it a day trip? Long weekend? Edinburgh is only an hour north! Speed cameras quite abundant on the A68 to watch out for...

I am sure some of the borders based boys will post....

Welcome to Dun:welcome2:

A few beers in the Crown Posada and a kebab at the Kontinetal Kuisine would be good on the way thro' the Toon. Then up the A1/Longhorsley/ Coldstream/ Edinburgh Road to avoid the big bumps on the A68.

On the other side of the Border is Ford, Etal, Norham and Berwick which are nice. Floden is worth a visit as its one of those weird places that feels strange, not like Cliff Richard, more like the Grand Canyon strange.

Cheers for all the advice, only doing the sites for a long weekend then maybe take the bike up for a run out next month. Also, is there still a regular meet at squires cafe ? If so when's the next one ? Cheers all, Rob.
