Which tyres?

I've just finished running my 1098R in, having covered 1600 steady miles. Due to the fact that I haven't been using anywhere near full throttle or any revs over 7k the rear tyre is still looking fine, the front on the other hand isn't! It's down to the wear indicators on the shoulders.

I've been very happy with the standard fit Pirelli BSB'S so was going to go with another set of them. I've seen the new Michelin power ones & was wondering if anybody had any experiences of these, or can anybody recommend anything better than the Pirellis?

Depends what kind of riding you are doing / planning. You are obviously leaning on the front a lot but taking it easy on the gas.
I would suggest going the opposite way on the road purely for safety. Always better to be slow in-fast out!

If you are happy thus far, You should stick with the same tyre as they are proper sticky for that use. However, they're a dry road / track tyre, not great in the wet.

Best advice is stick to what you are used to and find suit your purpose.

Thanks for your advice Mart.

I've been riding for nearly 30 years (raced 250's at club & national level for 10 years), so I've been used to pushing the front & high corner speeds, but I do hear what your saying about slow-in fast-out & road safety!

I never take the bike out in the wet, so I'm not too worried about the wet weather performance of the tyres!

Looks like another set of the Pirelli's then & I promise to wear the rear out first this time!!!:lol2:
