@Exige did the S come in the White? I thought it was just Red or Black and White was a base colour.
Not sure but going by this article: if white it should have a black frame

It's first MOT is 2017 and registered on an 11 plate - so 3 years of history missing - could have been laid up or imported in 2014.

I looked that up and yes it should have a black frame and black wheels witch it has, that one was probably a frame kicking about that Luigi fitted after his lunch break!! :)

More likely a colour change by a previous owner as there were no Gold Frames in the White production years - it's not a good combo White and Gold 🤪

£850,000 for a 748

You do get a free house to be fair. 🤔

You could get a white 848 and I think maybe a 1098 in white, but not the S.

IIRC, Frames on the 1098S SFS were
  • Pre 2011 - Bronze / gold
  • 2011 & 2012 - Black
  • 2013 on - Red
It's been a while since I sold mine and I'm a bit rusty, but I think the above is true.

There were some strange colours available in the USA and on non S models. The 848 range were black, white, yellow and red iirc.

Did Baylissboy sell your old SF in the end @Robarano ?

Beware the wording as there was a clock change at 16k000 miles so total of 25500 miles now but still possibly a bargain ?

If a 916 is your thing then at least the original panels are included albeit packed loosely in a tatty cardboard box

That’s been for sale for well over a year now 🤔

Given there were only 70 1198R's made and sold online I don't think they're a great investment. Even though it's just a 1098R in different clothing the bike never competed, were all snapped up for investment - I'd prefer a 1098R as the "buy it and store it " type bikes don't do anything for me.

And one bike that pisses me off, to change topic, are the bloody Senna's. It's a bog stock 916 (it may have had Ohlins can't be sure) with a famous name stuck on a different colour schemes. I think the demand for them is in part from non-bike/non-Ducati buyer crowd who assume it is incredibly special.

I nearly had an 1198R from a member of an old badly run Ducati Forum - an English bloke in the US. He had a buyer but hadn't heard from the buyer for a week and was due to repatriate his family to the UK. He was going to bring it with him and sell me it for I think £22K but the original buyer popped back up again  they will go up in value for sure but that one is clearly overpriced being for sale for over a year.

I've got a proper 1098R and a 'baby' Senna. 🥴
