Could it be an over the counter rs engine hence the normal engine number and the short engine numbers are only for special customers

Dunno, but I would have expected a different number than the road bikes - maybe they are 'kitted 748R's' :unsure:
 
Dunno tbh. Chances are, it’ll be on a different, rebuilt motor anyhow. Even the cases were a consumable.
it looks like a RS at a glance, it’s runnin* the under seat engine breather by the looks of it.
the supersport class was quite limited in changes so from homoglation stance, it’d be a road bike to begin with ?

I was going to say, you have loads of them plaques. Surely though they are only worth anything if they are matched to the corrected bike with numbers?

You would think so yes. I've sold 3 without advertising though to people who wanted them for the case and then get a machine shop to re make the plaque exactly the same but with their numbers on. Think I sold them for about £200 each. One went to Spain and 2 to the USA.

Didn’t one just sell at auction for 45k£ inc buyers premium?

I think Sheffield are being hopeful, or more likely their customer is.
