What can you recommend watching?

Due to launch at 11.30pm tonight 👀 one issue to resolve so may be delayed

I'm watching The Motorbike show with Henry Cole, it started at 7!! He has a 748 that needs a belt change, it amazes me how people are so scared of doing the belts. 🤷‍♂️ Even Allen Millyard wouldn't do it, i would do my 900ie and did my 996 belts, as long as you follow the procedure you can't go wrong. You need a cam lock for the 996 to lock the cams on the vertical head, £10 on ebay. It's the tensioning of the belts that scares people imo🤷‍♂️ common sense to not do them tight and not to loose you want inbetween.

What a fucking cock, can't believe Millyard wouldn't do it either, I don't bother with the locking tool, just turn the one pulley when I put the belt on 👍

He took it to luigi moto in bristol
He got a very expensive bill. To be honest i would get the clearances done at a shop and that's it, you need to get a shim kit that aren't cheap!!

The locking tool is cheap and helps big style, easy life for me!! 🤷‍♂️

Can't stand Cole, public school, pompous prick who thinks he's a cockney geezer, with his forced accent.
Mr Millyard, on the other hand, I do like and respect as the stereotypical english eccentric engineer he portrays, I also believe he could easily do belt/desmo service.
However, Cole is making profit from the programme makers and Allen's talent.
Poor Allen will have a script to follow.

I use the crank locking tool for doing the belts, had my trusty Laser tool for 12 years now, then rely on timing marks, for tensioning feel, then use a guitar tuning app on me phone.
Eesy peesy Japaneesy 😇

I don't mind Cole, X heroin addict, when i found this out the persona didn't mean anything!! Imo alcohol is the hardest hill to climb then a close second heroin!! I have lost some great mates to that evil shit and alcohol, i respect him for that. 🤷‍♂️

I use the casting to gauge the tension, not to tight and not to loose. My 996 needs some new belts soon but it's off the road at the moment so in no hurry!!

I know what you mean about Cole.
As we don't have a telly I've only seen the odd Youtube clips of him.
BUT
When I was at @West Cork Paul house I read a book all about Cole and he's had a fascinating life. I think he can be forgiven his pseudo persona.

I agree, I've read his book too - from Eton, to smack head, to war cameraman etc. And he's managed to get a multi series show about bikes on TV.

I struggle With Cole as well. I appreciate that his is the only show putting motorcycling onto mainstream TV and I watch it for that reason, but his over-excited teenager persona and his desperate-to-be-cool "hey man" hipsterism really grates.

Would have to be a bloody good book to make me change my mind about him.
Was it an autobiography, ghostwritten or a work of fiction chief?
