Thanks to all who contributed to my query, and it paid off, as Elsie thinks this replacement for our damaged Shark (mains powered) is great.
Much lighter, easier to get under desks/sofas/armchairs, automatically senses when it needs to go into overdrive, and takes up less room in our already congested hovel.
She thoroughly recommends it.
Me, I wouldn't know how to turn it off or on.
