Old style pedal moped.. 2 stroke. Runs great. Never really used it but for occasionally starting it and ran it for an mot last July. Had a service and fitted 2 new ryres and tubes due to their age. Since I bought it its been stood in my office as an ornimant. Great condition.

I head a few Vespa Ciao, Puch maxi, And Tomos step through ‘s as a little boy, ragging the shit out of it in the nearby quarry , the Puch maxi’s where incredibly easy to tune with big bore kits, carburettor and exhaust , it was the start of at least 25 little 2 strokes , great memories, after the above Honda MT 5, MT 8, MTX, Yamaha FS1, Zundapp KS Watercooled , Kreidler, Suzuki Etc👍

That lot would be worth more than most folks pension pots if you had them today.

Got any pics of the MT5? It was my first bike. Only had it for a few months before some scrote decided they wanted it more than I did….

I will have a look, unfortunately I have very few pics from that era, I might have one from the MT8, which is virtually the same. Yes some of them are big money now, I now that the zundapp ‘s are very sought after, they had a awesome build quality in the day.

Always good to see some pics from back in the day. Don’t worry though if they are not to hand.

I lost a lot of pics as I moved about over the years. The only ones I have of my two strokes from the good old days are posted earlier in this thread and ah sod it, again below…..

Black rides matter!

To be fair, I think my younger brothers bmx gave it a decent run for its money.

At the time of owning the mt5, one of my mates let me have a go on his yz80 that he had skilfully made road (il)legal. Dynamo front light, bicycle rear light, dodgy number plate and cut the ‘Not’ in the Not for road use off the tyres. I still chuckle thinking back to the “farkinell”moment when I grabbed a handful of throttle and shot off down the road at what felt like warp speed compared to the babylis mt5 hairdryer power. Happy days.

Glad you noticed my appropriate foot wear lol, I’ve done crazier things back in the day, we all did I believe , that colour was factory, it is not a MT 5 , it’s a German import MT 8 which was strictly illegal in NL , but as we where one of the first to import, the police took some time to catch up😇
