His text seems to be mixing up the 749R re the carbon bodywork comments, and it has a 749R tank on it. and the 2003 had a Silver Frame too.
Oh, and it's got 2005/6 Cam Covers and Swing Arm. He doesn't know what he is selling  probably a 2004 modified bike.

Because I don't know so asking from the informed, I noticed it is a recent Japanese import. Do different countries have different specs on these or were they the same no matter what the country? ta

I know the USA has quite a few differences, but other countries.... I await the answer from the better informed.

Same, the 2004 model wasn’t out in 2003 for other markets. Some US bikes have sometimes been different on ‘Specials’ due to emissions. i.e. lower spec engine offset with higher spec Carbon Bodywork.

For a period of time some Japanese bikes were speed restricted I believe, but mostly they’re EU spec these past 20 years or so.

It’s not even the right sticker kit. This is the right sticker kit of the 2002 WSBK bike

Sticker kit and yellow 😱, 998s should be red👍. If he doesn’t say it’s an S then it’s not. @WAYNE fyi ALL 998S (bar US ones) have the deep sump 996R engine (which was actually 998cc) of the WSBK bikes.
It being yellow is a dead give away it is just a 998 in yellow with sticker kit, i am no expert but it speaks for it's self!! (y)

998.

998.
Heard of one for sale with 4000 miles on it for £3700 bit it’s been stored in a damp swamp for 8 years, a mate was interested but the price went up to £5k when the fella saw what people were asking - probably needs a full strip & rebuild though so still not cheap 🤷‍♂️

Yeah but if someone can do it themselves then there’s money in that

Just had a notification of a new 1098R listing on Ebay, £21K with 11,000 miles - bit pricey I thought - sold already 🤷‍♂️ onwards and upwards

no not sold....removed from Ebay (it was a generic listing and pictures nothing genuine about the advert, maybe just looking to improve their rating?).....with a piss poor explanation of sold.... get your facts correct! and the lister was this bunch of clowns....long time ducati dealer impeccable record and history with the brand..:rolleyes:none so blind as them that won't see...
