That confirms the previous info I had, it’s very very hard to find a buyer who is prepared to buy the non-S version no matter how cheap it may be.

👍
The seller was a bit naive I think in having a buy it now price of £15k for a 15 month old bike on its second private owner. Not much more buys a brand new one from a dealer. The auction top bid was no good but had it been put up for sale for say £12500 ono as opposed to an auction it probably would have been snapped up.

Seller's description

Incredible bike with exhaust upgrade. 225bhp, standard exhaust (unused) included.I’m selling this bike on behalf of my brother-in-law. The bike can be viewed in Huddersfield, but absolutely no test rides, so please don’t ask. Not unless you put the full asking price into his bank account first and you provide insurance and license. FULL service history…service 1 @ 500 miles and 2nd service at 1130 miles. It comes with a paddock stand, indoor sheet and other bits and bobs. This is a very serious motor-cycle, so no “all the gear, no idea” dreamers please…experienced and able riders only. We don’t want whoever buys it ending up in a ditch, or worse still a wooden box.The price is £26,500 or VERY near offer, no insulting offers please, that’s just ridiculous and silly. Thank you very much for reading, if indeed you have and now I’ll go and get my coat…

Two owners, 5 years. 220 miles a year
Why would anyone buy a bike and not ride it?
Is there something wrong with it?
A few years ago I was in a dealership just mooching around. A young guy came in, he'd not passed his test yet but it was less than a week away and he was certain he would pass. Anyway I overheard him chatting to the salesman about buying a 959 on pcp. He was asked annual mileage and replied between 2 and 3. The salesman presumed thousand but was corrected as the buyer was planning just 200 to 300 a year. His money fair enough but what is the point? Possibly a great second hand buy for someone though.

Low mileage S version with panniers for £18k before haggling, and from a dealership

Classic markets go up and down, I reckon it's going down now with uncertainty due to electric bollocks, true classics will stay there but you need to invest millions to get on that gravy train
I think there was a false rise on older 70's and 80's bikes in the Covid lockdowns and the market is now correcting itself. But these bikes have a huge potential cliff fall coming due to the age profile of admirers becoming decrepit and dying off. Best to stay Svelte dudes (y)
