Nice bikes those, an old friend of mine had a Z1000, i was living with the Kiwis then and you would ride your bike on the pavement then down the side of the house and into the garden. We saw him come in then he came into the front room white as a ghost, wtf is the matter, he said he was at the lights and a GPZ900 pulled up next to him, now where the lights are you go up a hill then it goes down and there is a junction so you slow right down. Buses turning right left and cars etc pulling out, he said the lights went green the 900 shot off, he was behind him and he went up the hill and didn't slow down and there was a bus turning right and he went into the back of it, instant death. There was a picture on our local paper of the scene, the engine was on the road and the bike was just tiny pieces all over the place!! It turned out he was a 27 year old lad that used that road 5 days a week to get to work, fucking crazy, it's a well known dodgy road so fuck knows what was going through his head.:(

I had one from the same year (1985) and liked it a lot - then divorce came along and I sold it to Steve Rhodes (a big dealer) in Bradford :(

666 is a great number, if you look on trump tower there are some trees that are in a line of 666, it's a self-love, balance and refocusing number, the number of the beast is 616!! Trump knows, there are some very significant signs on the tower, you just need to know what to look for!!

Steve Rhodes? Wow blast from the past .. I knew his sons both were in Yeadon many years ago, I used to get a few bits from them for bikes.. they worked in the shop, I used to go to the shop occasionally and just realised it was in cleckheaton had totally forgotten but it was near my mate who passed away recently

I got a Suzuki jacket from Steve Rhodes (below) they were linked with some bike gang not sure which

The jacket was headed to Le Mans in that picture 😂

It makes you wonder whats going on inside the tank, if it has rusted but just surface rust on the inside then cider vinegar does the job, just leave it for 24 hours and job done. The carbs will need striping and clearing and that thing will run with an oil change fresh fuel, they are fucking solid motors. Fuck the cosmetics it's the heart that needs attention. (y)

Be nice to own the Slabbie today.
I had a Red/Black one when I was 19 or 20.
Wrote it off when a car pulled out in front of me, just a broken collarbone that time.

Funnily enough I bottled it/new tyres partially to blame also but I basically froze and lost it on a bend near a pub called the Sun inn at Fewston near memwith hill spy base north Yorks a Mecca of riding unless you are a numpty … slid into a dry stone wall had to leave the bike overnight in a farmyard then next day amazingly enough we were working putting up a marquee up at pately bridge showground so on way back all the lads lobbed it on the back of a lorry and took it back to Yeadon to the workshop

That bike ended up been sold to Chris Richards a well known drag racer and bike shop owner in Leeds.
