When they introduced ev's they did not have to pay car tax, not only did the exchequer lose that income but they also lost the 55% taxes on every litre of fuel.

Currently the income from just car tax for the 2024/2025 year was £8.2 billion

Currently the income from fuel duty & vat on fuel duty for the 2024/2025 year was £34 billion

A total of £42.2 billion a year screwed out of motorists. If we all went over to electric tomorrow, where do you think they will try and get that money from :unsure:

Plus, duty on imported cars...plus VAT on new cars (and on top of the duty on imports), plus VAT on vehicle repairs, servicing, parts and accessories.
 
Saw a report this morning that many Jaecoo and MG vehicles are rusting on weld seems and the 6 year warranty on rust doesn't cover it :ROFLMAO:
