London borough wants to charge bikers to park as motorcycle parking fees spread across capital

I would say 'who cares, it's Londinistan' - but you know every other thieving council wants to do it too.
It's been on the cards for a long time, don't care about london because i have no intention of going there again but as you say it comes down to all robbing Guinnesss at the council doing it all over the uk!!

One of the offices I sometimes frequent has a council run car park opposite, there is a dedicated motorcycle parking area. They also operate some car club bollocks and have now designated the previous hatched area as car club parking 👀

Max of 2 bikes now I reckon 🤣

Ridiculous as ever, the bike park in Salisbury has had nearly half of it turned into car parking places just to get more money robbing Guinnesss!! There is still a good few bike parking spaces, i sometimes park up on the square that is handy as your closer to the shops. Loads of people park there, it was at one point a bike park but they got rid of that.

Perhaps they could introduce road tax for push bikes whilst they're about it
The tax system should be overhauled it is far too complicated. Parking fees are just another tax on land we already own.
I remember some years back about charging motorcycles for parking but MAG got involved and put a stop to it and no doubt they will get involved again if it goes ahead.

Can ya still get away with covering your bike/number plate to avoid paying for parking?
I used to put a cover over my bike outside a site i worked at in london, they wernt allowed to remove it to see the plate.. It upset the nigerian warden greatly.
An ex used to clip a bit of carboard over the plate on her Vespa, that worked as well.

No idea about that first time i've heard of it but if that works then happy daze!!:)

In hammersmith and fulham they had a daft rule that if you parked ya bike in a metered bay you had to pay but you could park in a residential bay without a permit for free.
I pretty much just parked on the foot path most places and didn't get ticketed.
