Pension Taxing Petition

Stop taxing UK citizens from being taxed on their pension.

I'm not sure if anybody is remotely interested/bothered about this issue, but for me it really winds me up, that when you get to that point in your life where you are entitled to apply for your state pension, bearing in mind that you have paid towards it through out your working life AND to have to apply for it rather than it be automatically given, that you are quite likely to be taxed on that pension if you receive other income.
Succesive Governments have, over the years, hood-winked working people into taking out private pensions in an effort to lessen the burden on their coffers. Various companies have then gone on to rape those pension schemes & those same Governments have allowed these companies to get away Scott free with this practice.
All those Governments over the years have been too afraid to raise taxes to pay for the fact that we are living longer, therefore sadly, life is going to cast us ALL more. It's been seen as a vote looser & they are all too afraid of that instead of standing up & being counted.

Hopefully the link above works & should you feel inclined to agree you might be willing to back this petition of mine, maybe you might feel willing to pass on this link.

Thank you all for reading this & really sorry I've brought politics to this Forum, but I felt it justified. ❤️

The link doesn't go to a specific petition - just to a page where you have to enter your details and join a petition, but it doesn't say what the petition is - it could be in support of MenWomen with hairy arses 😮

Did you sign up, Exi?

It wouldn't be my thing but maybe it's yours?

No, as I don't mind paying tax to get my capital down a bit 😇, but thought I best check anyway in-case you lot were about to support a Green Man Petition by default. 🤪

Totally agree that it is absurd and disgusting that the pitiful state pension is now taxed regardless of any other income .

I signed up but it said it takes 5 people to make it go live. I did do it only 10 minutes after the post though.

Maybe this link will work ?,

Thank you everybody who has, or will, support this, it just really, really winds me up.
Anybody who gets to the ripe old age of receiving their pension would benefit, the other thing is that you still have to apply for it anyway, you do not get it automatically. Having said that if you were rich enough to seriously not be bothered about receiving your pension then maybe having to apply for it does have it's benefits !?
Always remember, we are a long time dead !

The idea of the State Pension is that you are taxed when you are younger in order to provide a safety net for the elderly who have made (or been able to make) no provision for their old age in terms of income.

The existence of the State Pension is a socialist concept - the State looks after you, not you or your loved ones - and is therefore a disgraceful thing. A State Pension should not exist, let alone be funded in the way that it is.

If you accept that it does actually exist and that Income Tax exists (and those of us living in the really-real world do, regardless of legitimacy concerns), then I cannot think of a single reason why, if your aggregate income including State Pension exceeds the Personal Allowance threshold , you should not be assessed on your entire income (and taxed on it net of said allowances), regardless of whether it or not includes a State Pension.

If you maintain that this is unfair, I will agree with you and assist you in any way I can in abolishing both Income Tax and State Pension.
