South Africa: May 31, 1910 (Union of South Africa formed as a Dominion; became a republic outside the Commonwealth in 1961, and rejoined in 1994)

New Zealand: September 26, 1907 (Achieved Dominion status, following earlier self-government acts)

Ireland (Irish Free State): December 6, 1921 (Gained Dominion status under the Anglo-Irish Treaty; later left the Commonwealth upon becoming a republic)

Saint Lucia: February 22, 1979

Kiribati: July 12, 1979

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: October 27, 1979

Zimbabwe: April 18, 1980

Some of those countries have succeeded in making the most of indepence but most have simply returned to the tribal nepitism countries they were before, whilst still blaming everything on Great Britain to hide their own corruption.
