What have you done on your bike today?

Today i got out finally on the HD, mild out and the rest of the week is looking good. I was on my way out to the garage next to Loomies and they have closed the road that takes you there. So turned around and headed for a garage at Botley and i was running on fumes, got there filled up then i decided to go for a Salisbury run. No, the road that i need to get to Salisbury is closed:rolleyes:, so went for another way and the road for that is closed, that's three road closures!! I'll tell you what that is going to be murder around the five O'clock mark, glad i don't drive, Southampton has one of the highest levels of traffic light's in the country and now three major road closures!!🤷‍♂️

Today i went for a ride to Salisbury as it was mild and at one point the sun came out, the roads were a bit sketchy in places! We had some early morning mist but it was ok, there is another road closure just down the road from me at the Uni. Also coming into Romsey there is some road works going on with some traffic lights so had to filter myself to the front.
Anyway parked up on the square and got a cup of tea and headed home, i went through Stockbridge then headed for Romsey down a road that bypasses the road works.:)
As i was going up the Stockbridge road a guy rode up behind me at warp speed and i could see it was a KTM Superduke, i could tell by the split headlight. Tight road that and over the years there has been a lot of bikers killed there!!
I could see in my mirror he was bored out of his head sitting behind me but we were in the 40mph zone. The road opens up to a nice stretch of road so i went over to the left and let him get past me.
Obviously he has more juice so he made light work of two trucks we were stuck behind. Nice bikes those and when i got my head on crash money i was tempted to buy one but was put right off with the fly-by-wire throttle bollox.

You could always change it to carburetors?

Fitted Nitron shock
Not as difficult as I expected
Removed hugger, both rear footpegs, exhaust top support, I have a termi, stock exhaust would require removal of silencer to allow remote reservoir removal
Took 21/2

Today i have been for a ride to the garage for fuel then Tesco for some food etc. There's not a cloud in the sky and quite mild, Loomies was packed, no surprise there as everyone is making the most of it. The weekend is looking good but getting colder from Sunday onwards but it is nearly November!!:)

Done a few miles on Nitron shock now
No more being ejected from saddle 👍
Bike feels better all round
On a familiar route this morning I realised that I was travelling quicker through the twisties, to the point that the front end was becoming unsettled pattering causing me to loose line slightly, I will have a play with settings but am drawn towards replacing the internals with Nitron

Definitely upgrade the forks as well. No point improving the rear if the front end then can't handle the increased pace. They need to be matched. Worth getting a pro set-up too. It's cheap for the returns you get and gives you a baseline that works which you can never be quite sure that you'd have reached by yourself.

There’s not much scope to reduce front preload, as remaining travel is not great
I think you are correct in all you said

Today i went out on the Harley and met my friend at Ashurst (he has the Enfield) then we rode down to Sammy Millers Pitstop cafe. It was pretty cold and a light drizzle in the air. There was quite a few bikes there but the cafe was ok, i think most people were in the museum.🤷‍♂️
