What have you done on your bike today?

Today was a public holiday in nz due to anzac day but i emded up working up the road for a lil old lady for most of it. Best part was i didn't even make any money!
Anyhu when i hot done at about 2pm i couldnt be arsed getting the tools out to work at home ( which was the plan for the day) so i had a few beers and made steak pies.
Best ones yet i think.. b says they are but she'd had a few beers as well..

Today i fitted my side stand extention on the Harley, you have to drill two holes, made two nice pilot holes with my new drill bits then started to make them bigger. The thing is i didn't have a drill bit big enough so had to use the biggest one to make the holes larger by twisting the drill to carve out enough for the bolts. Job done and works a treat, i can now find it easy with my heel instead of having to use the force!! :)

Will you still be able to find it “with your heel” when it gets cold?

Not today but last week I fitted a set of lowered footrests to my old Monster., these ones helpfully suggested by @Laava .
And here on the bike

The 40mm drop is very noticeable if like me you are approaching old gripper status and have a few sports injuries affecting your knees. I wouldn`t say its now a luxury tourer but I was able to do easily twice as much as before without a break and still get off feeling quite fresh. They should fit any Monster from the early 600 till the big change in 2008 to 696/796/1100.

I don't get why bikes don't come with rear sets - standard fitments can only be optimal for a very limited number of riders.

The KTM RC8R did. Not only the pegs but the bars as well. You could set it up either as a focused track bike or a relaxed, almost supernaked, sports bike for the road. As far as I know it remains the only sportsbike that had this amount of ergonomic flexibility.

That more manufacturers haven't followed suit will be down to cost cutting. When you buy fancy rearsets for £600+ they usually come with a lot of adjustability.
I agree it should be standard on new bikes. If it puts another £500 on the OTR price it would be money well spent if you can customise the riding position to suit yourself.
