I have an idea what he does for a living, and he must be doing OK if he employs drivers. And as for calling him Mr DV, get back downstairs to the servants quarters you pleb.Mr DV is a top guy, with a genuine bent towards getting anything in his life that is mechanical in 100% working order. If you knew what he does for a living you'd understand his drivers.
What a stunning bike.
He doesn't employ drivers?I have an idea what he does for a living, and he must be doing OK if he employs drivers. And as for calling him Mr DV, get back downstairs to the servants quarters you pleb.

Just curiousI was waiting for DV's 1098R to drop to £16k. I wonder if it's just an ornament now....
A miss... is as good as a mile...Just curious, he did drop it to 16.5, couldn’t you stretch to the extra 500 or have haggled a bit?
I was a twitchy about it's track and rebuild history. Plus DV was overseas, the bike was quite a distance from me, and on a base. So £16k was where I drew the line, to have 2 or 3 grand in reserve just in case. I did haggle before it went on ebay, until DV got the hump.Just curious, he did drop it to 16.5, couldn’t you stretch to the extra 500 or have haggled a bit?
In the flesh the bike is near perfect.I was a twitchy about it's track and rebuild history. Plus DV was overseas, the bike was quite a distance from me, and on a base. Reports of the 1098 gearbox, plastic tank and traction control being suspect put me off a bit. And I wasn't that bothered when it was sold, didn't the winning bidder drop out though? A low mileage 1299S with a warranty suited me better to put 2 or 3k road miles on.In the flesh the bike is near perfect.
Looks almost new, sounds sweet.
His attention to detail and honesty made the sale for me.
It was just over an hour away, so I went prepared to colllect when I viewed.

Test cardInteresting fact about the 1098R. It was the 1st ever winner of the Ducati Community 'Bike of the Month' award, despite @Exige denying the fact in the face of irrefutable evidence.
